🐾❤️✨ Buster's Journey: Healing Through Good Karma ✨❤️🐾

Some dogs come into our lives and remind us what resilience truly looks like. 💪🐶❤️ Buster is one of those dogs.

Buster, who is currently in the care of Jefferson County Animal Control, is still searching for his forever family. 🏡🐾💕 While he waits, he’s been hanging out with The Good Karma Project as we help him recover from a significant injury caused by previous trauma to his left hind leg. 🩺🐶💙

Today marks 8 weeks since Buster’s original surgery 🎉👏, which was performed to repair an injury that left him unable to properly use his left foot. This morning, under sedation, we removed the screw that had been placed to stabilize the repair and prevent re-injury during the healing process. 🦴⚕️✨

The good news? 📣🐾💙
Buster is making wonderful progress! 🎊🐶🎉
He still has about 8 more weeks of careful management and restricted activity ⏳🐾, followed by a gradual return to normal life before he can be considered fully recovered. 🌟🏃‍♂️🐕 While the road has been long, we couldn't be more encouraged by how far he has come. ❤️🙌✨

Through every bandage change 🩹, every vet visit 🩺, and every challenge 💪, Buster has maintained the sweetest spirit and the happiest attitude. 😊🐶💙 He truly is an inspiration. 🌈✨

A huge thank you to Dr. Poppell 👨‍⚕️👏💙, whose expertise made both the original surgery and today’s procedure possible. We are incredibly grateful for his dedication, skill, and compassion in helping Buster heal. 🐾❤️

We are also thankful for Buster’s amazing foster family 🏡💕🐶, who stepped up when he needed them most and have remained committed to his recovery every step of the way. Their love, patience, and care have made all the difference. 🌟🐾❤️

Together, we're giving this deserving boy the second chance he deserves. ✨🐾🌈

Today's procedure cost approximately $280 💵🐶, and Saturday Buster will return for a bandage change 🩹 and the first injection in his three-part heartworm treatment series. 💉❤️

Those treatments will be covered through the generosity of Good Karma Project sponsors and supporters. 🙌🐾💙

🐾💙🐶 Buster Update! 🐶💙🐾
Our brave boy Buster is continuing to make amazing progress on his recovery journey! 🙌❤️ After undergoing surgical repair of a calcaneal ligament injury 🦴🔧 and spending the last six weeks in bandages 🩹🐾, we're excited to share that he has reached another important milestone! 🎉✨
This Tuesday 🗓️, Buster will have the screw removed from his calcaneus 🦴🔩. After that procedure, his leg will be re-bandaged at a different angle 🩹↗️ to continue supporting the healing process. He'll need another 6–8 weeks of bandaging ⏳🐕, but every step brings him closer to a full recovery! 💪🐾❤️
Buster has been an absolute superstar ⭐🐶 throughout this entire experience. His patience, strength, and sweet personality have been incredible to watch. 🥰💕 He has handled every bandage change, vet visit 🏥🐾, and recovery challenge like a true champion 🏆💙.

✨🌸 Sometimes, you just have to stop and smell the flowers 🌸✨ and take life for what it is. Every journey has its twists and turns, and sometimes the answers we're searching for reveal themselves in their own time. 🧙‍♂️💜
Today, our mysterious little wizard, Merlin 🐾✨, had a checkup appointment with Dr. Morales at the specialty hospital (special THANK YOU to his chauffeur Tracy! 🫶🩷). For now, the plan is to continue his current treatment regimen and keep believing in a little magic while we wait for more information during our second visit to UGA, currently scheduled for the 29th. 🍀🔮✨
As many of you know, Merlin was born with a lymphatic vascular malformation, and we've been navigating this enchanted quest together ever since. 🐉🗺️💫 We are hopeful that now that Merlin is officially an adult (he turns 2 in August! 🎂🎉), doctors may be able to identify a primary lesion that could help guide us toward preventing the recurring cysts in his leg and abdomen. 🩺✨
Every spell, every clue, every appointment brings us one step closer to answers. 🌟 We refuse to give up because Merlin has taught us that courage isn't about never facing challenges—it's about facing them with your tail held high and your heart full of hope. 🐾❤️✨
We truly believe in good karma, positive energy, and the power of a community that keeps cheering for this magical boy. 🌈💖🦄 Thank you to everyone who has supported, prayed, shared, donated, and followed Merlin's journey. Your kindness means more than words can express. 🙏✨

🧙‍♂️🪄🐾Keeping up with merlin🐾🪄🧙‍♂️

Our sweet Merlin received his second light treatment last Friday and has also started him back on anti-inflammatories and antibiotics. The good news is that his leg is already looking better, and we're cautiously optimistic as we continue down this healing path.

This Friday, Merlin will be visiting Dr. Morales for a follow-up, and we're hoping for a positive report and more signs that he's moving in the right direction.

Through every twist and turn of Merlin's case, we've been reminded of something truly magical: the incredible power of kindness, compassion, and community. Your prayers, positive thoughts, encouragement, and support have carried us through some difficult days. We firmly believe that good karma has a way of finding its way back, and Merlin has been surrounded by an abundance of it.

Thank you to everyone who continues to cheer him on, share his story, and send healing energy his way. Every message, donation, and word of encouragement makes a difference.

🐾✨ Dax came in for his annual visit and WOW… we still can’t believe what a stunning pup he has grown into! 😍🐶 From goofy puppy days to this handsome adventurer, he’s truly something special. 💙🌲
We’re so fortunate to keep Dax in the Cumberland family and watch him continue to thrive, make new friends, and spread nothing but good karma everywhere those paws go. 🐾☀️ Every visit with him feels like a little reminder that life is better with loyal companions, wagging tails, and endless adventures. 🏕️🚗💫

✨🐾 GOOD KARMA IS REAL 🐾✨
One of our recent adoptees, Katniss — now lovingly renamed Pepper 🌶️ — is absolutely THRIVING in her new home! She’s growing like a w**d 🌱, living the good life 🛋️☀️, and her new family completely adores her ❤️🐶

Pepper is one lucky girl, and honestly… we believe this was all meant to be. By pure chance, she caught the attention of Dr. Bowman through Gadsden County Animal Control, and the rest became a beautiful rescue story filled with love, second chances, and perfect timing ✨🙏

This sweet girl went from needing help to being spoiled rotten with cuddles, toys, and endless affection 🦴🎾💕 Rescue dogs truly have a way of finding exactly where they belong.

Good people. Good dogs. Good karma. 🐾💫

Stories like Pepper’s remind us that when we keep showing up for these animals, amazing things happen. Here’s to rescue, love, luck, and happily ever afters 🏡❤️🐕

We want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far to help get MERLIN to UGA next month! ❤️ Because of your generosity, we’ve already raised about $800 toward our $2,500 goal, and we are so grateful for every share, donation, prayer, and word of encouragement along the way.

We also wanted to share an update on Merlin’s treatment journey. Last week, we started a new treatment called PHOVIA — a fluorescent light therapy done weekly to help treat his skin. We’re still not exactly sure how effective it will be long term, but so far we are already noticing a decrease in inflammation, which gives us so much hope!

Many of you already know and love our tiny wizard, Merlin 💜✨ — our brave little miracle boy who has captured so many hearts. What some may not know is that Merlin lives every single day courageously battling a condition called lymphatic vascular malformation 🩺💔 — a disease for which there is currently NO cure.
Because of this, Merlin will remain part of the Good Karma Project family forever 🏡💫 so we can continue making sure his medical needs are fully met and that he gets the longest, happiest, most magical life possible. ✨🌙🐶

This sweet boy has already endured TWO incredibly serious surgeries 🏥⚡ and somehow bounced back stronger each time 💪🐾. Merlin truly is a miracle. In Feb 2025, specialists only gave him 6–8 months to live 😢… and now our little fighter is approaching his SECOND birthday (Aug) 🎂🥳🪄

Lately, however, Merlin has begun experiencing a recurrence of his disease 💔, and we’ve slowly had to reintroduce his daily medications 💊🩺. These medications alone cost approximately $300–$400 every single month 💸, in addition to his ongoing monthly visits to Capital Veterinary Specialists 🚗🏥🐾.

Because of the recurrence, we have decided to take Merlin back to UGA on June 29th 🗓️🏫 in hopes they can repeat his lymphangiogram 🩻✨ — a specialized procedure costing around $2,500 💰 — to help locate where the lymphatic drainage issues in his leg and abdomen are coming from 🐾💔.

And now we humbly ask our amazing Good Karma family for help once again 🙏💫💜
🎯 Our goal is to raise $2,500–$3,000 for Merlin’s upcoming UGA appointment, with any additional donations helping cover his monthly medications, treatments, and specialist visits 🐶💊🏥✨.
