Youth participating in the Mason City Library summer reading program display their boot artwork after a lesson featuring the book “Farm Boots”. 📚

The story provided an opportunity for participants to learn about the different kinds of boots farmers and others may wear while working and participating in outdoor activities.

The lesson was presented by Joli Pierson, Mason County Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom Coordinator.

Students from Havana, Mason City, and Manito joined us at the Mason County Fair Grounds for our Ag Safety Showcase!

Students had the chance to get behind the wheel of large agricultural equipment and learn firsthand what operators experience while traveling on the road. They also learned how drivers can safely approach, follow, and pass farm equipment. 🚜

It was a great hands-on opportunity to teach our local students about sharing the road safely and the importance of agricultural safety in our rural communities.

🚨TAKE ACTION: Protect American Beef Production 🚨

Illinois Farm Bureau and Illinois Beef Association are asking you to urge Congress and the White House to protect American beef production.

An additional 660 million pounds of foreign beef is set to enter the U.S. over just 90 days at prices 25% below market value, undercutting producers.

Now is not the time. Farmers need long-term market stability, allowing producers to rebuild the U.S. cattle herd, increase American beef production and ensure consumers have access to a safe, abundant and affordable food supply.

We had a great turnout for our Open House & AITC Silent Auction, and we were excited to welcome so many members and friends through the doors to see our new space.

The Silent Auction was a huge success, raising $11,000 for Ag in the Classroom! 📚

These funds will help support agricultural education and ag lessons in Mason County.

We appreciate everyone who came out to celebrate this milestone with us and helped make the day such a success. Thank you to all bidders, donators, volunteers, and attendees!

Are you an Illinois Farm Bureau member looking to grow your leadership skills, expand your agricultural knowledge, and become a stronger voice for agriculture? The Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow (ALOT) program could be a great opportunity for you!

The 2027 program will take participants throughout Southern Illinois and beyond:

📍 February 16–17: Springfield

📍 March 17–18: Bloomington

Participant Eligibility:
🌱 Illinois Farm Bureau members actively engaged in agriculture
🌱 Members committed to serving as leaders and spokespersons for agriculture
🌱 Demonstrated agricultural leadership, involvement, and support
🌱 Commitment and potential to serve as a leader in agriculture

Great to stop by the Mason County Farm Bureau Open House yesterday with Sen Neil Anderson. Strong farm families and local organizations are the backbone of our communities, and they deserve leaders who will defend their freedom, protect private property, and keep government out of their way.

We also could not leave town without saying hello to our friend Shawn Sievers. Always good to spend time with people who care deeply about Mason County and the future of rural Illinois.
