This week Local 290 welcomed and hosted Opportunities Long Island (OLI). These young men have been traveling to various union trades for the past few weeks where they spend the week learning each respective trade. We are hopeful they will be choosing the Carpenters Union as their career path.

The first step toward the future is to look ahead, and we’re doing just that. Carpenters Local 290 brought together over 200 certified stewards this week to strengthen our foundation and plan for what’s ahead. Together, they reviewed jobsite procedures, discussed field experiences, and took a close look at rules, regulations, and contractual obligations.

These conversations are vital to ensuring every steward has the knowledge, support, and resources needed to perform their role efficiently and effectively. Thank you to all of our stewards for your leadership, your dedication, and the essential work you do every day, and for the many responsibilities that come with being a steward.
