Pine Burr Area Council The Pine Burr Area Council serves youth throughout the 17 counties of South Mississippi.

Our programs such as Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA run year round, you can register or find units near you at any time at BeaScout.org The Pine Burr Area Council, chartered by the Boy Scouts of America, serves 17 counties across South Mississippi with a mission to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Since 1927, we've been building future leaders through outdoor adventure, service, and hands-on learning experiences that last a lifetime. From Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA and beyond, our programs are guided by dedicated volunteers and supported by a strong community that believes in the power of Scouting. It’s time to recognize the outstanding Scouting volunteers who make a difference every day! 🏕️ We’re now accepting nominations for adult awards that will be presented at the Council Recognition Banquet. ✅The highest recognition a local council can bestow on a volunteer leader! It honors those who’ve given exceptional, unselfish, and dedicated service to Scouting and youth.

Ready to take your Cub Scout pack camping with confidence? BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) is the training every Pack needs to run a successful overnight campout!

During this hands-on overnight training, you’ll learn everything from outdoor cooking and campfire programs to Cub Scout camping policies and essential outdoor skills. Plus, you’ll spend the night camping with fellow leaders who love Scouting just as much as you do.

⚠️ Remember: Every Pack overnight campout requires at least one BALOO-trained adult leader.

Come prepared to camp and ready to learn! 🏕️

"I did a trek with Troop 271 to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimmaron, New Mexico. My dad also attended and we got to spend 12 nights with our crew hiking and camping in New Mexico. This was such a memorable time for us and I’m so glad I got to spend it with my dad. This picture was when we reached the peak at Baldy Mountain in June 2025." (Pictured Lewis Pace and Slade Pace)
