We're getting ready for our next RISE Thrive class, and we can hardly wait to meet our new students.
RISE Thrive is a free 10-week class with home-cooked meals, job skills, Bible study, and people who truly care. It's the start of a year-long journey of support and mentoring for adults who are ready to build a different future.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and we were so grateful to gather some of the pastors who have invested in RISE around our table for lunch. 💚

Each of these leaders has supported RISE in different ways, through prayer, meals, mentoring, volunteers, and giving.

Their churches help make it possible for participants to experience RISE at no cost.

To the pastors who couldn't join us this time, we're thankful for you too.

Your faithfulness and partnership mean more than you know.

Every day, men and women in our community are choosing to start again. They’re showing up, doing the hard work, and believing that their past doesn’t get the final word. At Rise, we believe that too.

That’s why we’re launching Rise 52, a community of monthly givers who believe in people and invest in second chances.

Your gift of just $52 a month helps provide practical training, mentoring, resources, and real opportunities for our graduates as they build a more hopeful future. It’s a small, steady commitment that adds up to something life-changing, for them and for our whole community.

Sometimes we just meet people where they are.

💚 Our Action Plan Coordinator, Julie, completed a needs assessment right at the counter of a local store and helped connect someone with several community resources she didn't know existed.

That's what walking alongside someone looks like.

He knows every street, shortcut, and story in Hattiesburg, and he puts all of it to work driving the RISE van so our students can get to class.

His faithful service earned him our Volunteer of the Year award, and he was a good sport about this cartoon makeover.

“When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.” — Isaiah 60:22 ⏳✨

Some things simply cannot be rushed.

You can pray. You can prepare. You can work toward your goals. You can take every step available to you—and still find yourself in a season of waiting.

Waiting does not mean nothing is happening.

Sometimes God is preparing things you cannot see while He's also preparing you for what comes next.

At RISE, we believe there is purpose in preparation. Use the season you're in to learn, grow, build new skills, strengthen your faith, and become equipped for the opportunities ahead. 🌱

You don't have to force tomorrow to happen today.

Prepare. Pray. Keep moving forward. And trust God's timing.

You can do anything—but you can’t do EVERYTHING. 🎯

Not every opportunity is your assignment. Not every problem is yours to solve. Not everything demanding your attention deserves your energy.

Sometimes wisdom is knowing what deserves a YES and what needs a NO.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.” — James 1:5

At RISE, we encourage people to identify their goals, recognize their priorities, and take intentional steps toward the future they’re working to build. Trying to accomplish everything at once can leave you overwhelmed and unable to give your best to the things that matter most.

Ask God for wisdom. Choose your priorities. Focus on what He's placed in front of you. Then give yourself permission to leave some things for another day. 🧭

DON’T STOP UNTIL YOU’RE PROUD. 🏁

Not proud because everything is perfect—but proud because you kept going.

Proud that you tried again. Proud that you chose growth. Proud that you asked for help. Proud that you kept showing up when quitting would have been easier. Proud that you trusted God enough to take another step, even when you couldn’t see the entire path ahead.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

At RISE, we know that meaningful change doesn’t happen all at once. There may be setbacks, hard days, and moments when progress feels slow. But slow progress is still progress.🌱

God is still working in your story. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep praying. Keep showing up. And when you look back at how far you’ve come, give God the glory for the strength that carried you through. 🙌🏽
