🎃 Thank You, Hattiesburg! 👻

What a spooktacular night! The 13th Annual Hattiesburg Halloween Parade was a monster-sized success, and it’s all thanks to you—our incredible community. From the tiniest trick-or-treaters to the bravest costume-clad grown-ups, you filled the streets with laughter, creativity, and just the right amount of chaos (the fun kind).

Huge thanks to all the floats, performers, and volunteers who made the magic happen—and to everyone who came out to cheer, wave, dance, and maybe sneak a little candy on the side (we saw you 👀).

Hattiesburg, you’ve proven once again that nobody throws a Halloween party quite like The ‘Burg. Until next year—stay spooky, stay kind, and keep those pumpkins glowing! 🧡🖤🎃

Our Pumpkin Queen is Betsy Mercier, Parks & Recreation Director for the City of Hattiesburg.

Our Grand Reaper is Hattiesburg High School legendary educator Jody Paola.

We’ll see you in the Avenues at 5:30.

🎃👻 ANNOUNCEMENT — HALLOWEEN PARADE TONIGHT IN HATTIESBURG! 👻🎃

Hattiesburg, dust off your broomsticks and gas up your golf carts — it’s finally here! The 13th Annual Hattiesburg Halloween Parade kicks off TONIGHT at 5:30 PM, right here in the Hub City!

Get ready for a spooky stroll through downtown as floats, ghosts, goblins, and at least three people dressed as Barbie take over the streets. Expect plenty of candy, questionable dance moves, and at least one fog machine that someone definitely bought this morning.

👀 Keep an eye out for your favorite local groups — from the cheerleaders and car clubs to that one guy who thinks “dressing up” means putting on a slightly cleaner pair of jeans.

🎶 The music will be loud, the lights will be bright, and the candy will mysteriously disappear before it reaches the kids. (We’re not judging. Parade candy is basically survival food.)

So grab your chair, claim your curb spot early, and get ready for a night of fright, fun, and Hattiesburg-sized Halloween chaos!

Join the Hattiesburg Arts Council for the final Brown Bag concert at the City Hall fountain today at 11:30 a.m.

Then, we hope to see you at the Halloween Parade in the Hattiesburg Avenues tonight at 5:30 p.m. The route is shown below.

Following the parade, check out Zoo Boo from 6-9 p.m. at the Hattiesburg Zoo.

Have an amazing costume and looking for a way to show it off? We have the perfect opportunity for a boo-levard debut! We are recruiting characters to walk for FREE in the 13th Annual Hattiesburg Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 30, at 5:30pm! All you have to do is fill out the form below and show up in a great costume.

🎃AVENUES PUMPKIN CARVING🎃
TONIGHT 10/16 5:30pm

$10 includes pumpkin & competition entry.
Carving kits will be available to use, but will be shared by all participants, so feel free to bring your own if you’d like!

Carving will begin at 5:30 P.M. and a guest panel of judges will begin making their choices at 7:00 P.M.

Judging will be split into categories for youth (11 and under) and adult (12 and over).

As with the entire month of October, costumes are strongly encouraged! 🎃 👻

It’s almost time for the annual pumpkin carving! Weather forecast is PERFECT for carving pumpkins!

Each pumpkin costs $10 and includes a gutting so you can get straight to carving! We’ll have a Halloween movie on the big screen and carving utensils to share but it never hurts to bring your own!

See you at Keg and Barrel East this Thursday 😎🎃
