Dear friends:

We lost a great friend late last night. Around 11:30PM on January 19, 2023, former Pioneer Ranger Joe Murphy passed away.

Joe was Ranger at Camp Pioneer for many years, succeeding his father Chester Murphy in the role. Joe grew up on Camp, and raised his family there as well. Joe helped countless young men have the most amazing times at Summer Camp. He was a good friend and coworker to many. He was also a skilled engineer, keeping Camp running on a shoestring budget and making do with what he had on hand many times. If not for him and ingenuity, Camp wouldn't have been able to open many years.

We ask that you say a prayer for the repose of Joe's soul, and for Matt and Peggy in their time of grief.

Thank you Joe, for all you did for all of us. Rest easy, old friend.

Noonway.
