Prairie Loft Center for Outdoor and Agricultural Learning Located just west of Hastings, Nebraska. Prairie Loft incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2005 and began offering programs for all ages in late 2007.

The region's only outdoor and agricultural learning center focusing on getting people of all ages outdoors, creating connections and building an appreciation for agriculture. Since then, nearly 83,000 visitors have attended programs, events, and other activities.

The Farm to Fork Chef Showdown is just over two weeks away, so we figured it's time to meet the chefs who will be cooking for us! Please welcome our first chef, Dustin Schmidt!

Dustin is a Shelton, NE, farmer, chef, and family man dedicated to the production of heirloom vegetables, apiculture, and heritage poultries. He brings years of culinary experience to the table while maintaining a strong focus on supporting local producers and the use of quality, locally-grown ingredients. At Schmidt Sisters Farm, Dustin and his family are dedicated to growing quality food and supporting the producers and communities around them.

Happy National Hammock Day!

If you ask anyone what their favorite part of Prairie Loft is, there's a solid chance the hammocks will be mentioned! Throughout the years, there have been many stories read, several naps taken, a couple of falls, and countless memories made at the Prairie Loft hammock hangout.

Don't have a hammock? No worries! Come hang out with us at Middle School Nature Night Camp on July 31st or Toddler Camp on August 7th. More Registration info can be found on our website.
