So many of you have asked how to make financial donations to the Hastings on Hudson Food Pantry. With gratitude, the Friends of the Hastings Youth Council, the 510c3 organization run by volunteers that raises funds for the Food Pantry, would like to share a few links. Every dollar we raise will help keep the Food Pantry stocked with healthy food in the weeks and months to come.

You can make a financial donation in the following ways:

Roughly 1 in 8 people in the US rely on SNAP benefits to be able to feed their families. Often, those benefits don’t even go far enough, and those same people rely on food pantries to supplement what they receive from the government. On November 1, SNAP payments were not made to the millions of people who need them to eat, and they don’t know if or when those payments will come through.

We are proud to live in a village that takes care of one another.

The Hastings Food Pantry is located on the lower level of the James V. Harmon Community Center and distributes groceries on Wednesdays from 8am to 4pm. All are welcome.

If you are considering making a Thanksgiving donation to the Hastings Food Pantry, please keep in mind that we do not need turkeys, or any other holiday-specific food. (We have that covered! 🦃)
Instead, at this time of year our families need basic shelf-stable foods that will help them feed everyone through the holiday school breaks. Here are some ideas:

Canned chicken/tuna
Rice
Beans
Boxes of cereal
Pancake mix
Cake mix
Oatmeal
Coffee
Tea
Spices for cooking
Individually packaged snacks
Canned tomatoes
Boxed mac and cheese

Have your kids outgrown their winter gear? Are you looking for winter layers? Come to the Winter Gear Swap at this Saturday and bring any size coats, hats, snow pants, boots, or gloves to donate. You don’t need to swap to donate, and you don’t need to donate to shop!
