Single mothers relying on welfare face significant economic disparities that stem from systemic barriers, not personal failure. These women often juggle the responsibilities of caregiving, work, and education with little support, yet are met with limited access to affordable childcare, stable employment, housinig, and healthcare. Policies that stigmatize welfare recipients further entrench poverty instead of offering pathways out of it.

Economic justice demands that we recognize and address the structural inequities that single mothers encounter. Solutions must include a living wage, accessible childcare, comprehensive healthcare, and a social safety net that uplifts rather than punishes. Investing in single mothers is not only a moral imperative—it is a direct investment in the future stability and prosperity of our communities.

Potluck CDC Inc. is a 501-c3 non-profit organization with a mission dedicated to equipping and empowering single mothers with transformative skills vital for financial sustainability through entrepreneurship and creative prosperity.

We would appreciate any tax-deductible gift to our organization for the advancement of our mission and vision. We also accept in-kind donations to assist with our efforts.

We need assistance to help cover operational expenses:

Getting ready for our Community outreach efforts to show our love, support, and to encourage single mothers that they are not alone in the challenges they face. Every act of kindness makes a difference, no matter how big or small.

As a forthcoming Community leader, transparency and relatability helps to establish trust, bridge gaps, and creates a greater impact among those you are serving. I remember when I was struggling and having to endure significant losses, I would save floss sticks, rinse, and reuse them because I did not know when I would have enough money to purchase more.
