Ezra S Cox Memorial Athletic Foundation The Ezra S Cox Foundation provides assistance to athletes who are in need of support.

Registration for Fall youth sports is in full swing and I want to personally thank all of the generous donors who contribute to the ECF. With your help, the ECF has provided assistance to over 600 young athletes so they can pursue their dreams.

What an honor it has been to be witness these little miracles happen over the last four years. Because of you, today alone, the ECF provided help to nine kids who otherwise would not have been able to participate in organized athletics.

Jill and I are simply the vessel that God is using to make a difference through the ECF, and the donors are the engine that keeps this organization running.

From the bottom of my heart, I can't thank you enough.

Sincerely

James Cox

First of all, thank you for your continued support of the ECF. I am so proud to say that in the last 3.5 years we have given financial support to over 400 kids to have the opportunity to be involved in organized athletics.

We are off to a fast start in 2026, and so far this year we have assisted 8 more young athletes.

The Ezra S. Cox Memorial Athletic Foundation was created because of Ezra’s love for Eaton High School sports. His involvement as the equipment manager allowed him to be an integral part of the success of each team. With your donation to this foundation, students that are at a socioeconomic disadva...

Congratulations to our 2025 Ezra Cox Foundation Big Heart Award recipients. Kaleb Campbell and Zoey Campbell. This award is not based on athletic talent, but rather showing good character, being a good teammate, handling adversity with dignity and class, and for most of all being good kids. Ezra would be so proud of you both.

It has been a little over three years since Ezra has been gone, and we started the ECF. Over the last three years, I have learned a lot about running a non profit organization and what an impact charitable organizations can have on young people.

We haven't posted much about individual gifts this year, because I want to keep the stories private to protect the families. They deserve respect and privacy. Just know, that when young boys and girls need to be on the field or the sidelines and when they lack the finances to do so, that is when the ECF steps in and makes their dreams come true.

The ECF has provided assistance to nearly 600 young athletes over the last three years. I want to thank all of our valued donors who have made this possible. Jill and I feel like even though we lost a child, we gained about 600 more through the ECF.

Once again, we are registered with North Texas Giving Day. I want to personally encourage you to tell your friends, family, boss and your bosses boss about the ECF.

With your help we can continue assisting young athletes for years to come, and keep Ezra's legacy alive.

The ECF is praying for all of the victims of the floods that occurred in the Texas Hill Country over the weekend.

Personally, Jill and I mourn along with all of the mothers and fathers who have lost their children. I know from personal experience there is no greater pain than the loss of a child.

We are praying that all of these families have a support system that will sustain them during the following days, months and years.

The ECF is at it again! We were honored to help a 7th grade Adam's Middle Schooler with some help so she can continue her cheerleading career. This is what the ECF is all about!

Today, the ECF sends out its deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of Austin Metcalf who tragically lost his life at a track meet in Frisco, TX yesterday.

May the Lord of Host come down upon this family during their time of grief. I know first hand that is it not by your own power that you can endure the loss of a child, but rather by God’s power.

The ECF is praying and mourning with the entire Metcalf family in the days, weeks, months and years to come.

It is only March and the ECF has provided financial assistance to three athletes for the upcoming Fall Season. We had one football player and two cheerleaders for the EYSA.

We appreciate all of you who have so generously donated to this organization to make this possible. Only with your help, can we continue to provide this service.
