Rieger Memorial Library has a stronger foundation for technology and digital access! 💻📚 In August 2025, the library was rewired and received a new network cabinet through a Category Two E-Rate LSTA Grant. These infrastructure improvements help support the internet and technology services used by members of the Haskell community.

We are thankful for this investment in Rieger Memorial Library and the people it serves!

Today is the last day of the Summer Feeding Program at the library! Please stop by and get your last box of the summer! The hours today are 9:00-2:00.

SUMMER FEEDING PROGRAM AT THE LIBRARY!

NO COST MEAL BOXES FOR KIDS & TEENS, ALL SUMMER LONG!

Who? ALL children and teens (18 and younger).

*Parents and Legal Guardians may receive boxes on the child's behalf if they are not present. (Siblings, family friends, neighbors, non-legal guardians, etc, cannot receive a box on the child's behalf if they are not present)

*If a child is present with a non-legal guardian, the child may receive the box directly.

What? Meal box containing 5 days of breakfasts, lunches, and snacks. May pick up new boxes weekly!

When? DAILY Monday-Thursday 1-6pm, Fridays & Saturdays 9-2pm | June 1 - Aug 7

Join Eastern Oklahoma Library System on August 4 for a deliciously fascinating FREE virtual author talk with Smithsonian curator and public historian Paula J. Johnson, author of Julia Child’s Kitchen: The Design, Tools, Stories, and Legacy of an Iconic Space.

🏠 Julia Child’s famous 20' × 14' kitchen was so much more than a kitchen—it was a working recipe lab, television backdrop, and reflection of one of America’s most beloved culinary icons. Now preserved at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, the space contains more than 1,000 objects, from favorite cooking tools and gadgets to artwork, books, furniture, and plenty of Julia’s signature whimsy.

Paula J. Johnson was part of the Smithsonian team that collected Julia Child’s home kitchen in 2001, and she’ll take us behind the scenes to explore its stories, design, treasured objects, and Julia’s lasting influence on the way we cook and think about food today. ❤️🥘
