This coming Saturday, June 6, at 1:00 PM, the Hungerford Memorial Museum in conjunction with Mr. Weeks' and Ms. Kubas’ 8th grade students from Region 10, will hold a Witness Stone Ceremony for an enslaved adolescent girl named Violet. Violet was enslaved in Harwinton in the late 1700s. Her stone will be placed alongside the Witness Stone of young Cyrus, an enslaved boy sold to a Harwinton family.

Please join us Saturday at the Museum to help celebrate the life of Violet and to hear about what happened to her when she was a child. Refreshments will be served. MJO

Please share.

As we continue to catalog and preserve our collection, we find a need for supplies to assist in this endeavor.
