Mr Cowboy was a superstar today giving love and attention and photo ops as he truly is a “ham”!
He’s growing up - he is a rescue and sometimes it takes longer than we exspect for the confidence to come in our horses in order to interact with people that come for “Wellness”.
It’s about the whole horse
And the whole person and what we are comfortable with in order to truly feel in the moment and feel good 😊

I just have to celebrate how much love and care has gone into “not giving up” on our Scribbles 💖the first 2 photos were the end of June after dropping weight quickly due to an appetite loss from her medication. When a horse is 30 years old we tend to think it’s a part of aging and a life well lived coming to an end. I have to say I never give up and thanks to a supportive vet ….she looks fantastic and acts fantastic going into the colder weather …. That’s what the goal was 🙏 I would have to say it’s important to get rid of expectations of what we might expect to happen and move forward with appreciation and love and hope and always keep a good attitude ❤️ and it’s awesome to have a 29 year old friend as well ( Miss Angel ) 💖

Scribbles has been on Cushing medication for a number of years and as she turned 30 years old this year she started to loose her appetite and began loosing weight ….after a vet visit found out the medication can take her appetite away …. So we reduced her medication and have been working on gaining weight.
She has gained over 100lbs these last few months and LOVES her special mashes and gorgeous second cut hay ♥️ we love her so much !!!

This is what we try to teach people who come to the farm about - it’s not about how good the horse is but what the personality of that particular horse is ♥️
They are individuals just like humans and once we understand that we can move forward with a relationship of understanding and through time a partnership.
In today’s world we tend to “humanize” animals and it’s not a good way to think !

A horse can hear a human heart beat from at least 4-5 feet away ♥️
They can feel and hear your intentions in and out of the saddle and most importantly the energy you bring to them they will reflect back to you which gives you the gift to look at yourself with deep awareness which is why we say they are a mirror of our soul! ….. but it’s much more than that with time and patience they are a gift in so many ways.

Some Clients have been coming to the farm for over 8 years (the beginning of our Wellness program and becoming a 501c3 non-profit) and the progress is incredible …..from not entering the barn to riding pretty much on his own.
Small steps = Confidence and Partnership with an incredible horse ❣️

Miss Pickles is a super star at easing clients into the Wellness Program here. ….she loves her job and wants to be part of the program if she’s in her paddock she will Whinnie to ask us to bring her in to meet everyone ♥️ we don’t ask our horses to do anything they don’t enjoy doing …. And because of that special things happen 😊
