Curiosity Club is officially up and running!

Today, our young explorers dove into the microscopic world with microscopes and slides—discovering tiny wonders one slide at a time. And just when we thought it couldn’t get more exciting, we ended the day with an ocean trivia showdown! Who knew learning could be this fun?

Next week? We’re getting crafty with DIY candy baskets made from cardboard and our trusty Chompsaw—a generous donation from one of our incredible PBCB families!

A huge thank you to everyone who makes Curiosity Club possible. Here’s to curiosity, creativity, and endless discovery!

Did you know Pleasant Bay is Cape Cod’s largest estuary? This 9,000-acre wonder isn’t just a stunning spot for sailing, it’s a living classroom for marine science! Home to 36 species of finfish and countless shellfish, Pleasant Bay acts as a nursery for fish like winter flounder, striped bass and oysters. This vital ecosystem supports the entire coastal food web.

With our science education initiatives here at PBCB and collaborations with local scientists, we create a hub for hands-on learning. Whether you’re paddling, sailing, or just soaking in the views, you’re part of a bigger story. One that connects science, community, and conservation.

Yesterday was a big day at PBCB - dock out day! Our ramp is stowed safely on the pier for winter and all of our floats are back in the parking lot. Pictured are Matt and Peter delivering the floats to Round Cove, where they worked with our dock company FWM to haul each piece back to our property.

Last weekend, 16 friends of PBCB and our Executive Director, Dorothy, put their sailing skills to the test aboard Ladona in Maine. For four unforgettable days, they lived aboard the historic schooner, a fully restored 1920s ocean racer. The days were spent exploring the islands and lighthouses of Penobscot Bay, and the evenings were filled with good food and camaraderie. A wonderful adventure made even more meaningful by supporting PBCB. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Things are a little more back to normal on campus. Our dock weathered the storm well, and will be pulled for the season next week. The Friend is back in the mooring field for one last school field trip tomorrow! While boating is coming to a close for the summer, don’t forget about us during the off-season. We’ve got a variety of fun events coming up - keep your eyes peeled for our email newsletters.
