We had a fantastic Potluck meeting this past Sunday! Great to see so many new and familiar faces! Lots of good conversations were had and we put a few dates on the calendar for volunteer workdays at two of our sites. The first will be Saturday April 25 from 10-12:30 at the Long Pasture Audubon Sanctuary in Barnstable. And then Saturday May 16 at the Harwich powerlines site, from 1-4 (the best address to use for GPS is 140 Bay Rd, Harwich)

The main theme of both these volunteer workdays is: assessing the plantings and give TLC where needed, w**d, mulch, stake/protect plants that need it… some good old fashioned maintenance 💪 and seeing it through, making sure that these plantings are successful

These volunteer work parties are a great way for new and interested folks to meet the group and plug into our efforts to plant and maintain publicly accessible food forests across the Cape! We look forward to seeing you

If you have any questions please shoot us a message here or send us an email at [email protected]

Ok y’all, time for a Food Forest Initiative potluck/meetup. It will be Sunday March 8 at 1pm at Dave and Marinas home in West Barnstable. Please send us a message here or send us an email to get the address: [email protected]

It’s open to all, old members, newbies, anyone interested in what we do! We are all volunteer and we have some awesome projects already on the ground. But the one thing we always love is more volunteers! Our group could also use a few more “core” members who’d like to fill more of a leadership role in the organization. Spread the word, bring a friend! Send us a message or email if you’d like to attend. Bring a snack to share!

Hi friends, we are having our winter annual Potluck Meetup on Sunday, March 8th, 1:00 PM to around 4:30.
This is to plan our seasonal work days at our sites, share news, and brainstorm new ways of being, doing and communicating. We want to make clear that we are non-hierarchical, open, intergenerational, fun, creative, and genuinely interested in ideas and initiatives for our local planet. So -- after sharing food and drink we will have a talking circle and maybe some songs, if folks want that.
If you are interested in attending and working with us -- and you are not on our mailing list -- please send an email to us at [email protected].
I will add you to the Potluck/Workday mailing list which is really our best mode of communication for all of our actions.
And I will send you the invitation with more specifics.
We practice Permaculture and Restoration Agriculture, we plant food for people (and nature), we trend toward native plants,
and we work with shovels and wheelbarrows to "make the commons bloom for all."
