Veterans Step Up Foundation - North Dakota Our mission is to serve veterans and their families.

Our primary focus is sharing our collective knowledge and experience to assist veterans or their surviving spouses in filing their VA Claims for the benefits they are entitled to receive.

The fall gun show sponsored by Minot Rifle and Pistol club is coming up November 26 and 27.
We will be there. Will we see you there? We are anxious to meet any veterans who are in need of any type of assistance and any individuals interested in working with us to help veterans.

Although we were disappointed with the lower than expected turn out for our 2nd Annual Meet and Greet BBQ, we did meet some veterans who thought we might be able to help them and some individuals who might be interested in joining us in serving veterans. Most of those attending said they had never heard of our foundation and they all agreed the food was outstanding.

Veterans Step Up Foundation was at Indian Hills Resort as guests of On The Water Friday and Saturday. Friday was for men veterans and Saturday for lady veterans. Although the fishing was slow both days, the weather and comraderie was great. Both days wrapped up with a BBQ catered by Tim Dandy's BBQ and meats and the awarding of door prizes. Two lucky veterans were also presented replicas of monster fish they caught at last year's events.
The first is a 32 inch walleye caught the first men's day last year and the second is a 49 inch northern caught by a lucky lady veteran. The replicas were made by Eldon Christmann's River Bottom Taxidermy.

July 25 is the National Hire a Veteran Day. It's a day set aside to raise awareness of civilian employment for transitioning service members and veterans after military service. The HIRE Vets Act, which also has a HIRE Vets Medallion Program to recognize those employers who are dedicated to hiring veterans.

The Fair says “Thank You” to military families by providing discounts during the Fair on Tuesday, July 26. Sponsored by the ND Beef Commission in partnership with the ND Stockmen’s Association, and ND CattleWomen the 15th Annual Beef Industry Military Appreciation Picnic, a free roast beef picnic for active duty, reserve and National Guard members and their families. The picnic lunch will be offered from 11am-1pm, located behind Commercial II building on NE corner of Fairgrounds. There are also free carnival rides 1pm to 3pm with Military ID. Coupons will be available soon at the Minot Area Chamber EDC or at the Minot Air Force Base Visitor Center. (DIGITAL COUPONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED, MUST HAVE PHYSICAL COUPON IN HAND)
