🐠 Join us in celebrating the incredible work that JUMP has been doing with the students in the Crossroads program at the Leominster Spanish American Center! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that our enthusiastic youths have been actively participating in MassWildlife's Trout in the Classroom program. 🌱🐟 Not only have they helped prepare an aquarium tank to hatch trout eggs, but they have also been dedicated to maintaining their habitat.

From testing the water to cleaning the tanks, feeding the fish, and monitoring their growth, our students have been fully engaged in this rewarding experience. 🌊 This hands-on approach has enabled them to expand their knowledge about fish and the importance of wildlife preservation.

As spring approaches, our students eagerly anticipate witnessing the growth and development of the trout before eventually releasing them back into the wild. 🌿🐠 Their dedication to nurturing these creatures has truly been commendable.
Kudos to our Crossroads program participants for their hard work and for being responsible stewards of our environment! 🙌 Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to educate, inspire, and empower our students through exciting initiatives like these.

Exciting news! JUMP is working with Making Opportunity Count (MOC) in Gardner, MA, thanks to a generous grant from the Yellow Birch Fund. Together, we're fostering a love for nature and education through our STEAM curriculum and team-building activities. Our goal is to inspire and equip students to thrive in a changing world while cultivating an appreciation for environmental conservation. With MOC, we've had a blast brainstorming, building community, and playing games. The students can't wait for more science adventures, like space exploration and hands-on activities like slime-making and robot-building.

JOIN US! Nature Quest for Youth & Families: Monthly Outdoor Family Adventures in Nashua Parks

The Nashua River Watershed Association would like to invite you to participate in our FREE Nashua Quest series running on the 2nd Saturday of each month, January thru May, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

NRWA Educators/Naturalists will lead five FREE guided outdoor exploration programs for children ages 6 to 13 and their families. We'll learn about the diversity of plant and animal life in Nashua parks, and their connection to the Nashua River through an investigative adventure in five city parks during the winter and spring. Families can choose from the following programs; pick one, or two, or all:

Jan. 13 at Greeley Park Animals of the Forest Tracks and Signs
Feb. 10 at Mine Falls Park Winter Wildlife and Water
Mar. 9 at Downtown Riverwalk River Otters, Beavers & Muskrats
Apr. 13 at Lovewell Pond Park Spring Surprises In & Around the Pond
May 11 at Field Grove Macroinvertebrates & Metamorphosis

NRWA will provide each family team with an NRWA Discovery Backpack with field guides, hand lenses, binoculars, and other resources for use during our program. This is a fun way for families to connect with nature and explore outdoor spaces with knowledgeable guides.

🌿🚶‍♀️ Hey friends! We can't wait to bring back our amazing Trail All-Star program in partnership with the North County Land Trust!

🌳🌻 Unfortunately, the program is currently on hold, but with your help, we can get it up and running again soon! 🏞️ We need donations to ensure the program's success and make it even more amazing. Join us in providing this enriching experience to the community. 🌍🤝

During the program, we'll embark on a series of local hikes on the beautiful conservation areas in North Central Massachusetts. 🌳📚 Each hike will explore an easy, family-friendly trail and educate us about a specific tree at each site. Plus, there's a fun twist! We'll search for letters attached to the trees, which will help us solve a mystery word jumble at the end. 🧩✨

And that's not all! When you complete all 8 trails with us, you'll receive a special patch to commemorate your achievement! 🌟🎉

🎉✨ Successful Field Trip to Geek Is Glam Expo! ✨🎉

We had an amazing time on our field trip to the Geek Is Glam Expo event at Worcester Polytechnic Institute! 🙌🏽💻🔬 Thank you to the Girl Scouts, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), and all the collaborators who made this event a success. We're grateful for the opportunity to participate and continue fostering our love for STEM! 💕🚀

Our girls from Making Opportunity Count, The Spanish American Center, Inc., and JUST UNDERSTAND MY POTENTIAL, INC had a blast attending interactive classes together and exploring on their own. It was incredible to witness their enthusiasm and curiosity in the world of STEM! 🎓🔍 Furthermore, we were delighted to learn that the event has expanded to include an older girl track tailored specifically for girls in grades 9-12. It's incredible to witness the growth and evolution of this empowering experience! 👩‍🔬👩‍💻💖

A highlight of the day was the delicious buffet lunch, complete with soft serve ice cream – the perfect treat to recharge and fuel our excitement! 😋🍨 We dropped the girls off after registration and checked in with them again at lunch. It was clear to us that the girls were so excited and happy to be there. They spoke about the engaging workshops they experienced, how they loved getting to do something different with their friends, and the wonderful food options available in the dining hall. One girl even said she can't wait to go to college! 💪🏽👩‍🎓

The Geek Is Glam STEM Expo, hosted by the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts (GSCWM), has been empowering middle school girls (grades 4-8) since 2014. This annual day-long conference takes place on the beautiful WPI campus, where the girls had the opportunity to interact with some of the region's top scientific and engineering experts. 🌟💪🏽 We were thrilled to discover new facets of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while engaging in hands-on activities and inspiring discussions. 💡🔬✨

Our girls loved checking out organizations and getting free stuff at the Expo hall, especially the Bose headphones. The event is truly amazing, and the girls absolutely love coming every time we bring them. It's so heartwarming to see their excitement and passion for STEM grow with each experience! 🎧💥

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Central Massachusetts STEM Network Ecosystem, Gardner Yellow Birch Fund, The Spanish American Center, Inc., United Way of North Central Massachusetts, and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) for their invaluable support that made this field trip possible. The generosity of these organizations helped with transportation and ensured an unforgettable experience for our girls. 🙏🏽💖
