Harvard Arts

Harvard Arts H'Arts is a non-profit organization promoting the continuation of art education in Harvard District 50.

In 1988 the elementary art teacher position was eliminated and elementary art in Harvard School District No. 50 became the responsibility of the classroom teachers. The district conducted a Needs Assessment Survey at the request of the Harvard Education Foundation, in which a majority of elementary teachers expressed need for an art teacher. The board was unable to bring back that position and in

spring of 1999 H`ARTS (Harvard Arts with the accent on the Arts) organized an In-School Arts Pilot Project for grades 1-5. H’ARTS continues to be vital in this program and has provided dozens of other programs for the Harvard schools and community.

Any artists or artist wanna be's. H'Art still has spaces available for the paining party Saturday 3:00 to 5:00. The cost is $25 and includes free admission to the evening event (art, entertainment, food and cash bar). Comment if you want to be added to the list. This is the painting we will be doing.
