⚾🎬 “YOU’RE KILLING ME, SMALLS!”

This Friday night OCTOBER 9th, we’re trying another HBL first...

FALL FAMILY FLICK AT MOOSE FIELDS! 🍿

And what better movie to watch at the baseball fields than the kids’ classic The Sandlot?!

Movie starts at 7:30pm! THIS Friday OCTOBER 9th. Get there early to get a good seat and grab some snacks at the snack shack OR Bring your own snacks!

Our Harvard Baseball Board is hosting the night as a THANK YOU to all of the families who supported HBL throughout our summer and fall seasons and to celebrate what has been an incredible year for our league with a FREE OUTDOOR MOVIE!!!!

The weather is changing, the nights are getting colder, and we may not have too many more chances this year to throw on a sweatshirt, grab a blanket, and spend a night together at the ballpark. So we want to make this one count.

This year we tried some new things. We expanded Fall Ball to include competitive games with neighboring towns. We added a tournament team. We sold corn dogs a few times! We added a gum ball machine... the kids LOVE this (sorry parents). We improved parts the electrical system. We added apple c***r doughnuts a few nights(and maybe one more night on the 9th). On top off all the other everyday maintaining we do. And most importantly, we watched a whole lot of kids play baseball with the largest participation from the community in a long time!!!!

So Friday night, there are no practices, no standings and no scoreboards.

Just baseball families hanging out at the fields and watching a baseball movie together. ❤️⚾

🌭 The Snack Shack will be OPEN, and.... everything we have left is ON US!

We don't have a ton of inventory left...

BUT DON'T WORRY. WE WILL HAVE TONS OF POPCORN! 🍿🍿🍿

Bring your chairs.

Bring your blankets.

Bring your hot chocolate.

Bundle up the kids.

And come help us celebrate another great year of Harvard Baseball with one more night together at Moose Fields.

Corinne's hasn't just been a sponsor of Harvard Baseball League. They have gone above and beyond by providing the seasonal flowers around our baseball fields, including the absolutely beautiful mums you see out there right now. 🌼🍂

And that's something we really appreciate.

Because those little touches matter.

They help make Moose Fields feel like more than just a place with a few baseball diamonds. They help make it a place our families are proud of and a place that feels like home. ⚾❤️

So here's your HBL weekend itinerary...

🍎 Head over to Edwards Apple Orchard and grab some c***r and apple c***r doughnuts.

🌼 Then swing by Corinne's Flower Farm and pick up some mums or something for the house.

Seriously though, when local businesses step up and support our kids, our volunteers, and our baseball program, we want our HBL families to remember them.

The best way we can say thank you is by supporting the businesses that support us.

So this weekend, make a fall day out of it.

Grab the kids. Get some doughnuts. Pick out some flowers. Make some memories.

And if your spouse asks why you came home with 7 dozen doughnuts and a truckload of mums...

🍎⚾ SUPPORT THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT OUR KIDS! ⚾🍩

We want to give a HUGE thank you to our friends at Edwards Apple Orchard near Poplar Grove!

Their support of HBL goes WAY beyond writing a sponsorship check.

When a neighboring community's baseball program was no longer available, the owner of Edwards, Andy, stepped up, brought a group of those kids over to Harvard Baseball League, and then said...

"I'll coach 'em."

He became a head coach AND an HBL sponsor. ⚾❤️

And this fall, Edwards stepped up AGAIN.

They generously donated 5 DOZEN of their apple c***r doughnuts to HBL so our baseball families could enjoy them at a discounted price while sitting at Moose Fields watching their kids play Fall Ball.

That's the kind of community support we absolutely love.

And here's our ask...

If thinking about Edwards takes you back to those grade-school field trips when you learned how apple c***r was made, smelled those doughnuts, wandered around the orchard, and came home with some pretty great memories...

🌧️⚾ WELL... HERE WE GO AGAIN. ⚾🌧️

Apparently Mother Nature looked at yesterday and thought, “Yeah, let's do that again.” 😂

Unfortunately, Fall Ball is CANCELED again today.

BUT WAIT... There is MORE..... Next week the weather is looking beautiful to close out the Fall Ball Season. Games have been rescheduled, check here and TeamReach for more updates and mark down FRIDAY the 9th for the FREEEEE Outdoor Movie at the baseball fields....

The fields are just too wet after another round of damp, gray fall weather, and we need to give them a chance to dry out.

We know the kids would rather be playing. We would too!

We'll have apple c***r doughnuts at the Snack Shack tonight for just $1 each! Because apparently baseball wasn't enough to get you to Moose Fields. 😂

Harvard Baseball League Families,

**Fall Ball is officially underway!** ⚾🍂

First and foremost, **THANK YOU for following through and registering your child for Fall Ball.** Families have been asking us for more baseball and a more competitive Fall Ball program, and because you stepped up, we were able to make it happen!

We also want to thank everyone for your patience and grace as we get things rolling.

Last night was our first night, and we'll be the first to admit there was some confusion. We hope this email/post (we're working on the email) clears things up and gives everyone a schedule they can refer back to throughout the season.

Please also remember that Harvard Baseball League is run **100% by volunteers.** Those same volunteers organize the baseball program while also maintaining approximately **95% of our seven-acre property at Moose Fields.** There are a lot of moving pieces, and we're incredibly thankful for the parents, coaches, volunteers, and families who give us some grace while we work through them.

Now, let's play some baseball!

**A QUICK NOTE ABOUT THE 5:30 PM MARENGO GAMES**

We understand that a 5:30 PM start makes for a quick turnaround after school. Unfortunately, Marengo does not have lights at its fields, so we need to get the games started while we still have enough daylight to play.

We appreciate everyone's flexibility with those dates.

Marengo has been a great baseball partner for HBL. Their program shares many of the same recreational baseball fundamentals and values that we do, including **development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and giving kids an opportunity to PLAY BASEBALL.**

We're excited to welcome them to Moose Fields, and we're equally happy to support their program by taking our teams over to play on their home turf.

We had an awesome time at our Fall Ball registration event at McDonald's! Between the FREE face painting, discounted Happy Meals, and a few boys who decided they absolutely needed chest hair painted on 😂... we'd call it a success.
