First Baptist of Pine Ridge (3901 W. Bobo Newsome Hwy) will be providing Food Boxes:
Thursday, 8/20 at 5pm - Seniors ONLY (IN DARLINGTON COUNTY)
ID is required for pick-up.
Contact Pastor Wayne Cash at 843-917-0529 with any questions.

All For Christ Ministries will be providing Food Boxes:
Saturday, 8/22 at 8am - Anyone in need (IN DARLINGTON COUNTY)
ID is required to pick up.

Community Heat Shelter Available

Starting today, Second Baptist Church, located at 212 W. Washington St., will temporarily open its doors as a heat shelter for those who need a cool, safe place during the extreme heat.

Hours: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily
Location: Second Baptist Church, 212 W. Washington St.
Questions: 843-601-7897
End date: To be determined

Pastor Blue is also asking for the community’s support. Donations of bottled water, Gatorade, and snacks are needed and can be dropped off at the church.

Please help spread the word and share this information with anyone who may benefit from the heat shelter.

We had a wonderful visit on Tuesday from our Board Chairman, Brandon Beasley, who brought Amanda Boykin, Chair of the SPCCARES Foundation Advisory Committee, along with him to meet our new Executive Director, Amy!

We were so glad to have the opportunity to connect and learn more about Amanda and her involvement in our community. In addition to her work with the SPCCARES Foundation, Amanda serves on several other boards throughout Darlington County, as well as the COOPERATIVE Council of the Carolinas.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to build connections with community leaders who are dedicated to making a difference right here in Darlington County!

Every young person deserves the opportunity to walk into the future with confidence, hope, and the tools they need to succeed.

This International Youth Day, we’re doing our part to help local Middle and High School students begin the school year ready to learn and ready for what comes next.

Through our Backpacks Program, we’re collecting school supplies and monetary donations to fill backpacks with essentials for students in our community.

Here’s what we need:
• 1-inch binders
• Packs of lined paper
• Composition notebooks
• Pens
• Pencils
• Index/note cards
Or, your donation of $44.60 provides a backpack and all the supplies needed for a student who would otherwise go without.

A backpack filled with school supplies may seem like a small thing, but for a student, it can be a confident start to a successful school year—and a brighter future.
