We were proud to support this group of first-time homebuyers through a $25,000 grant to help make this program possible.

Eight months of learning, planning and preparing came together in one special graduation night. Homeownership is an important step toward building financial stability and a stronger future, and we’re honored to play a small part in helping make that opportunity possible for families in our community.

Congratulations to all of the graduates! We’re excited to see where this next chapter takes you.

After six years of dedicated service on The Byerly Foundation Board, Dr. Terry Hassler is rotating off the board. His connection to The Byerly Foundation runs deep. He served on the Byerly Hospital Board when the hospital was sold in 1995, helping lay the groundwork for the Foundation’s beginning.

Over the past six years, Dr. Hassler has brought that history, experience, and deep commitment to Hartsville to his service on the Foundation Board. We are grateful for his thoughtful leadership and the many ways he has helped strengthen our community.

Thank you, Dr. Hassler, for your years of service and for continuing the legacy of Dr. Byerly in such a meaningful way.

We are excited about the open grant cycle and can’t wait to see all of your ideas that will create positive change in our small town with a big heart. The 2026 funding priorities came from listening to our community.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting each of these focus areas, sharing more about why these areas matter, the challenges and opportunities they address, and examples of the types of projects that may align with our grant priorities.

Together, we are investing in the people, places, and opportunities that help the people of Hartsville thrive.

Don't wait until the deadline to get valuable feedback!

We are providing each organization an opportunity to obtain feedback on one grant application prior to submitting. Our TA provider will review and offer feedback to help strengthen your application before you submit. This is a great opportunity to make sure you are clearly communicating the impact of your project.

We recommend reviewing the NOFO and answering the application questions in a separate document that can easily be attached to an email. You can also submit your work plan and budget information. Email [email protected].
