🍩 Donuts with Dogs

Join us Tonight, June 16 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Darlington County Humane Society for an evening of sweet treats and adoptable dogs.

This event is part of the Petco Love Pick Me! SC Adoption Event, taking place June 12–21. Throughout the campaign, adoption fees for dogs 6 months and older are reduced to just $100.

Enjoy a complimentary donut while you meet some of our wonderful dogs who are looking for loving homes. Whether you're searching for a walking companion, a family pet, or your next best friend, we hope you'll stop by and meet them.

All adoptions include spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, and a microchip.

Paws Around the P*e Dee: Freedom Ride Edition

Our shelter dogs are ready to celebrate summer with a day out of the shelter, and they’re looking for a buddy to join them!

On Saturday, June 20, sign up for a Paws Around the P*e Dee Freedom Ride and take one of our adoptable dogs on an adventure. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a trip for a pup cup, a scenic drive, or a visit to our friends at Bethea Retirement Community, you’ll be helping a shelter dog enjoy a much-needed break while showing them what life outside the shelter can be like.

We’ll provide everything you need, including supplies, activity suggestions, and a ready-to-go backpack. All you need is a little time and a willingness to make a dog’s day.

Every outing helps our dogs gain confidence, reduces stress, and gives them valuable exposure that can help them find a forever home.

We are so excited to celebrate another amazing week of lifesaving at Darlington County Humane Society with 15 finalized adoptions! 🎉

Each of these sweet animals has found their forever home, and it’s all thanks to YOU—our adopters, supporters, fosters, and rescue partners. 💛

Happy Tails for Reese!

We're excited to share that Reese has found her forever home!

At almost 7 years old, Reese recently went home with Savannah during our Petco Love PickMe!SC Adoption Event. Savannah saw something special in this sweet senior girl and decided to give her the loving home she deserves.

Reese spent 11 weeks in our care, patiently waiting for the right person to come along. While older cats are often overlooked, Reese's gentle personality, affectionate nature, and sweet spirit made her impossible to resist.

We are so grateful to Petco Love and the Pick Me! SC Adoption Event for helping shine a spotlight on shelter pets like Reese and encouraging more adopters to open their hearts to animals in need.

Thank you, Savannah, for choosing adoption and for giving Reese the happy ending she's been waiting for. We know her future is filled with cozy naps, sunny windows, and plenty of love.
