Today, we're so excited to see that commitment recognized on a national stage. Dr. Sponseller has been named to Becker's Hospital Review's list of 2026 Community Hospital CEOs to Know - and is one of only three CEOs in South Carolina to receive this recognition.

Today, E received the keys to his very own apartment in the Independent Living Program! 🔑

A recent high school graduate, this young man has worked incredibly hard to change the path of his future. He has faced challenges that could have easily defined his story, but instead he has continued to show up, make good choices, set goals, and work toward the life he wants for himself.

He is already working locally and is looking forward to continuing his education. Through ILP, he’ll have a place of his own while continuing to receive the guidance, encouragement, and support he needs as he navigates adulthood.

Milestones like this are possible because of the generosity of our community. Donations to Trent Hill Center help provide safe housing, groceries, transportation, life skills, case management, and the everyday support young adults need as they work toward independence.

When you give, you’re helping give a young person the stability and opportunity to build a successful future.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedicated volunteers who help make Trent Hill Center a better place for our staff, and the youth and young adults we serve.

We’d like to give a special thank you shoutout to Jay Davis, one of our longtime supporters, for recently giving his time and talents to transform some of our office storage space. Jay built and installed custom shelving that has made the very limited closet space significantly more organized, efficient, and functional for our staff.

It’s improvements like these that may seem small, but make a big difference in helping us stay organized and focus more of our time and resources on serving young people.

Jay, thank you for your years of support and willingness to step up wherever you can lend a hand. ❤️

We can’t believe that tomorrow is the first day back to school! 📚 Our youth and young adults had a summer of fun and new experiences, but they’re also excited to begin a new school year.

From high school hallways to college classrooms, our students are stepping into this year with the supplies, confidence, and encouragement they need to succeed thanks to our awesome community.

Thank you to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Carpenter Technology, and and America United Miss South Carolina Teen, Kendall Fox for ensuring our book bags are fully stocked! ❤️

A great team deserves time to have a little fun together!

Last night some of our Trent Hill Center team enjoyed the evening cheering on the Florence Flamingos. 🦩

We are intentional about planning opportunities for our team to not only relax and have fun outside of work, but also strengthen our relationships to help us better serve the youth and young adults who count on us every day. ❤️

School may be out for the summer, but learning never stops at Trent Hill Center. 📚

Some of our staff recently participated in an educational policy training led by our Director of Education Services, Samantha Wilson. The day was spent strengthening our knowledge of education policies, resources, and strategies that help support the youth in our care.

We’re committed to staying informed, building our expertise, and finding new ways to ensure every youth has the support they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond. ❤️

A huge thank you to Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center for welcoming Trent Hill Center to present on Supporting THC Adolescents Experiencing Mental Health Crisis in the Emergency Department.

Our Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Sarah Stephens, delivered an impactful presentation with practical, trauma-informed strategies to help medical professionals better understand how grief, trauma, and lived experience can influence a young person’s response during a mental health crisis.

Strong partnerships between healthcare providers and community organizations are essential to ensuring youth in crisis receive the understanding, support, and care they deserve.

We look forward to continuing to work together to ensure there are trauma-informed experiences for all youth and families. ❤️

When we shared the story of a 16-year-old girl who arrived at Trent Hill Center with only the clothes she was wearing, we asked for your help, and our incredible community showed up in a big way!

Thanks to your generosity, she not only has new clothes, toiletries, comfort items, but also a brand new pair of shoes. The smile on her face when she tried them on reminded us that what may seem like a small purchase can mean the world to a young person who has lost so much.

Over the past week, we’ve watched her begin to settle in. She’s started making friends with the other residents, laughing together, and begin to feel at home.

From all of us at Trent Hill Center, thank you for responding so quickly and so generously. Your kindness is helping create hope, healing, and comfort for all youth who walk through our doors. ❤️
