Thanks for supporting the 2026 Darlington County Master Gardener Association annual plant sale! We might have set an unofficial record for the hottest temperature since we started 15 or so years ago!

Thanks to all our volunteers but especially to Susan and Theresa who run the show. The rest of us just do what we are told and are happy to do it😅

Our annual spring plant sale is upon us!
Kalmia Gardens of Coker College Joslin Education Center at
1520 W Carolina Ave, Hartsville
April 16th and 17th from 9:00 -3:00
April 18th from 9:00 to 1:00
**NO BROWSING OR SALES BEFORE 9:00!! No exceptions!**
*Cash or checks only! Checks can be made out to "DCMGA"
ATM at Food Lion parking lot 1 mile east or Shell gas station on 151 1/2 mile to the west.
*Please follow parking attendant instructions. Do NOT park on West Carolina Ave roadside!
*Bring a cart or wagon, if you have one. Ours get snagged pretty quickly!
*Master Gardeners and gardening friends available for questions

We have a good selection of trees and shrubs at the Master Gardener Plant Sale next week. Lots of things you will not find at your local garden centers. Come check us out on Thurs Apr 16, 17 & 18 starting at 9 each day.

If you don’t have Amsonia ‘Storm Cloud’ in your perennial bed you are missing out. We will have them at the MG Plant Sale Apr 16,17,&18.
We also have beautiful Hosta varieties this year. We have hosta WuLaLa which gets 3-4 ft tall!

We will plant your pots for you! Just bring your pots by the greenhouse starting Apr 1 and let us know whether for sun or shade. You can select plants or leave it to us. Fee is the cost of the plants plus $10 for soil and time release fertilizer.

Only 1 month till the MG Plant sale at Kalmia Gardens. The greenhouse is overflowing with color! Come see us on April 16, 17, & 18.

FYI: Yes, all those sleeping buds are popping open with this UNUSUALLY warm (and getting warmer) weather but it's not summer. It's not even spring, y'all!! We have 14 days of winter left on the calendar. Who knows when Mother Nature's last day of winter will be😊.
As WMBF weather say, "RESIST"!

Starting to "up-pot" our cuttings and plugs. Growing well in the greenhouse despite the cold! Will take any sizes but particularly in need of 1 gallon containers and smaller. Happy to reuse! Please drop off behind the Joslin Center (1520 W Carolina Ave, Hartsville) in the small cage to the right of the parking area. Hope you made some time to play in the rare dry fluffy snow!.
