Several years ago I started a non profit for children with disabilities or for children from birth to 21 years of age who need rehabilitation services. I name it SHINE & SHOUT. Shine because I want to do every thing in my power to help children Shine. Shout because it reminds me of the Bible story in Joshua 6 where the walls of Jericho fell on the seventh day when God’s children showed their faith and obedience and God fulfilled His promises. The Israelites conquered the wall by singing praises and worshiping the Lord. I know that through my faith and obedience to the Lord He will keep all of His promises in His timing.
I want to thank Katrina Hope Knotts for thinking of us and using her new adventure to help the children we serve.

If you were not invited to our Tupperware party she started and would like to be added just let us know!

As you all know, Shine & Shout is a non profit. About 2 years ago, I purchased a piece of equipment because I had a kiddo that wanted to RUN and I longed to make that happen! I could see their little legs just a moving and the wind blowing through their hair! ( with assistance of course). God had other plans for my little kiddo and as much as it hurts to sell this piece of equipment, I have a kiddo with another need.
The bike was $ 2800.00 and it comes with a 500.00 indoor “prop” that makes it a stationary bike indoors. This bike has never been outdoors except for up and down a drive way a couple of times.
I am asking 2000.00 because it is for charity as well. Call 843-332-7750 if interested or text Melissa at (843) 409-1620 with questions or further inquiries. Thank you !

Shine & Shout is in search of gently used bikes for children ages 3 years up to 10 years old. We are a non profit, so if the bike is in good condition we can offer donation to charity tax documentation. The bikes collected will be used to teach children with disabilities to ride and our therapists will add modifications to bikes so the children can take them home to ride once trained 🙂. You can reach out to Melissa Keziah Shumate regarding donations or question.

We made a small version of a wheelchair a year or two ago.
One of our parents showed us this idea, and we were able to make it come to life. Something like this makes it possible for a smaller child to independently move around their home. The original idea came from a daddy of a special needs child, but I cannot find the post to give him credit! If you know him, please tag him!! His love and creativity he pours out to his son, is blessing others!!

Looking at this smile it’s easy to see the sweet s***ky personality Christian was! He wasn’t a child of many words, but when his opinion was ready to be shared he sure had the s***k and verbal skills to communicate his thoughts on the matter!! He gets that from his mama Shaun Mattox and maybe his daddy too!! Christian may still be getting his weather reports in Heaven, from the Big Man Upstairs himself!!
I cant forget to thank the Mattox family for remembering our non profit during this difficult time. We love Christian and your Family and we will always be here if you need us!!!

Christian Mattox
October 11, 2004 - February 3, 2020

I've received many messages about the passing of one of Hartsville's most beloved sons, Christian Mattox. He was a student at Hartsville Middle School who had an infectious smile, laugh, and a personality that everyone adored.

He was also one of the coolest kids on the planet because he was a big fan of weather and watched me on TV every day! His mama said that he would go outside, sit for a second, and then say, "Yep! That's what Ed said!" You have no idea how big the smile was on my face when I read that. It literally brought a tear to my eye. What an awesome endorsement from a wonderful young man!

I can see via the photos and stories online that Christian was a person who had a positive impact on the lives of everyone he met. How blessed they were to have him as a friend. How blessed I am to know his story. There's no doubt in my mind that fond memory of Christian will bring smiles to the faces of hundreds for many years to come. What an incredible legacy.

I regret that I only got to meet you briefly once, Christian, but God willing, one day, you and my brother, Matt, will be the first people I look for in heaven!

I'll close with a note from Christian's parents to him...

"Buddy, we know you are finally able to do the physical things that were unattainable to you on this earth. So, run, Baby, RUN, and swing that bat! Hit it out of the park for everyone, and...
"Just In Case You Ever Wonder"
"I'll Love You Forever"...
