Thanks to East Highland Baptist Church in Hartselle for hosting this great Disaster Relief Team from Kentucky overnight. This Kentucky DR team was deployed to Panama City area and needed a place halfway to spend the night. On literally 30 minutes' notice, Pastor Jarrod Helms and EHBC got together and welcomed our Kentucky brothers and sisters to stay at the church. Their members even got up early this morning and cooked breakfast for their guests!
Surprisingly, while in Hartselle, the DR Team received notice that they were being called back to Kentucky due to quickly changing events at the coast. They took this in stride and said the Lord must have wanted them to visit Hartselle, Alabama.
I am grateful that they were met by our generous and loving members at East Highland! You guys represented Hartselle and the Morgan Baptist Association well! This is what partnership is all about! It is also the nature of disaster relief work. Things can change quickly and you must remain flexible.
These Kentuckians were still beaming with the joy of knowing that they woke up right where the Lord had sent them, even if they may not get to set up at the coast. We told them now they can check Hartselle Alabama off their bucket list, but they are welcome to come back anytime!
PLEASE PRAY for this Kentucky DR Team today as they head back home to Kentucky with all this equipment in tow.
