SERMON VIDEO: "THE BREAD OF LIFE"

Sermon Text: John 6:35-37 (Scripture Reading: Isaiah 55:1-13; Other Reading: Hebrews 10:16-23)

Message delivered by Pastor Richard Stetler on August 23, 2026, at Resurrection Hope Congregation, Hartley, IA

There is a saying in the business world that is also applicable on personal and religious levels. The saying goes something like, “a guarantee or promise is only as good as the person or business making it.” Jesus made remarkable claims and promises to His disciples; and to us, also. So, how do we know His claims were true and His promises would be kept? In these verses we begin to consider this thought and how our hearts may be reassured that Jesus’ claims are true and our hopes are not in someone who will not or is not able to keep His promises.

SERMON VIDEO: "THE TRUE BREAD OF GOD" - JOHN 6:30-34

I have attached below the link to last Lord's Day message in the series of messages from the Gospel of John:

Please also keep me in prayer as I struggle with some health issues that have hindered me in pursuing in a timely manner the things that need to be done to further the gospel of our blessed Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Though the trails have been many it is the Lord and Him alone who has strengthened me and comforted me as I go through them all - He alone is my Rock, my Refuge and my Strength in these many spiritual battles.

I am also comforted in knowing that there are many people who are praying for me; knowing, more so, My Shepherd carries me and protects me as I walk through a time when the rocky road seems more like an ominous mountain that could easy become a mountain of discouragement and despair. I thank the Lord for you all; and am especially thankful to the Lord for upholding me as I look to Him through His word and much prayer for strength, wisdom and direction; both personally and for the cause of Christ through RGM.

Blessings to you all.

Soli Deo Gloria!

SERMON VIDEO: "HE FOUR WITNESSES, PART 2"

Sermon Text: John 5:37-47 (Scripture Reading: Psalm 36:1-12 (Other Reading: Isaiah 9:1-21)

Message delivered by: Rev. Richard Stetler on June 21, 2026, to Resurrection Hope Congregation, Hartley, IA

This message is part 2 of messages on the “The Four Witnesses” that Jesus gave that testified and support that what Jesus said defending Himself in response to the false accusation made against Him by the Judaic leaders. In verses 31-36, Jesus began His defense presenting John the Baptizer and His works, which testified to the truth He of what He said concerning healing the paralytic man on the Sabbath and stating that He was equal to the Father. The third and fourth witnesses Jesus presents testify further concerning His authority and that He is truly the Son of God, the Second Person of the Triune God, taking on Him the very nature of man, both of body and soul to save the world from sin, redeeming those given to Him by the Father; Chosen out every kindred, nation, tongue and people to redeem from the bo***ge to sin in His one atoning death on the cross shedding His precious blood and rising again from dead; thereby, obtaining for sinners the forgiveness of sins, righteousness, salvation and everlasting life; doing what they could not and would not do for themselves. Watch the video to learn more about the last two witnesses Jesus presents in His defense against the untrue accusations made against Him by the self-righteous and ignorant Judaic leaders of Jerusalem.

SERMON VIDEO: "THE FOUR WITNESSES" - JOHN 5:31-36

The scariest thing that a person can say to you is “trust me.” I have learned the hard way that it would be wiser not to “trust” such a person. Yet, Jesus, who is the Son of God and the Son of man, could have said that after giving His defense and you could trust that what He said about Himself was true. Notwithstanding, He presented four witnesses to his accusers, who would testify to the truth concerning what Jesus said in His own defense. In the sermon today, two of those witnesses are considered, which should have been enough to verify the truth Jesus spoke concerning Himself, which ought to reassure us and comfort us our faith to live by faith bearing the fruit of the Spirit and boldness to speak confidence that our faith is not a blind faith of philosophical nonsense, such the other man-centered religions of the world. I pray the Lord will bless you and strengthen you the Faith as hear what God has to say to you in the preaching of God’s holy word, the Bible.
