I can't believe it's already September!

1st club meeting will be next Tuesday, September 8th, 7pm @ the Canaan Firehall. We will be electing officers and talking about new happenings with the MSA. Everyone interested is encouraged to attend!
Every monthly meeting after that will be held the first Tuesday of the month at the Hartland Library! Come join us!

Trail grooming was completed last night. Our fearless leader even got out his trusty chainsaw and took out some tree hazards. It was a gorgeous night and the most recent snowfall was just what we needed. Get out and enjoy it because we truly have a beautiful trail system. ❤️
⚠️ Always use caution on the trails but a special heads up for the Scott Paper Road trail through to Burrill Corner. The pick up trucks were back and rutted things up again. We cut as much as we could out with the drag but there are still some sketchy holes. Apparently, you can't fix stupid. ⚠️
Another big thank you to our volunteers and a special thanks to the snowmobile community. Its always a pleasure to meet so many respectful and appreciative people on the trails. This hobby really has some great people!

INFORMATION ABOUT THE TRAIL ON & OFF GREAT MOOSE LAKE:
The property we used to use was sold and the new owners made it clear they do not want the snowmobile trail near their property.
The new trail is being built. It is the one that travels beside Vigue Road. We didnt have enough time to get an excavator in there to widen and get all the rocks moved. It will get better but it will be a lot of work between now and next season. Smokeys Angels is completely volunteers and doing their best. It is an active and passable trail but it is rough so please use caution.
As for traveling from the lake and finding the new trailhead. There is signage on the land and a 6' marker out on the ice with reflectors as well. The trailhead is only about 200 yards back towards town.
Again ⚠️ please use caution because this trail is in rough shape but its brand new and we had no time to smooth it out and remove debris.⚠️

All our trails have been groomed, with the exception of the Burts Bridge Trail, which is due to a culvert being out. It is passable by sled but not with a groomer. We have done what we can with the ruts caused by vehicles driving on the Burrill Woods trails but please use caution. Get out there and enjoy it, let us know how you find them. Feel free to tag us in pictures or send in messenger. We value your opinions. Special thanks to our usual crew who work full time jobs and spend their valuable free time fixing groomers and maintaining trails. FYI- Just a little heads up! The big tucker is headed out to do some brushing so if you are out on the trails be aware that thing takes up a lot of space. 😁 Also we will be out grooming tonight! Think snow, we could use some! ❄️
