Copper Cup Hockey Tournament

Copper Cup Hockey Tournament The Copper Cup Hockey Tournament benefits the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Michigan.

This tournament is strictly for first responders, corrections and military personnel with three divisions to offer competition for all skill levels. The Copper Cup Hockey Tournament started out in Birch Run, Michigan as a tournament for police, fire and corrections to compete on ice for the Copper Cup. The tournament was moved from Birch Run to Bay City then to Flint and continued in the same form

at with some slight modifications. The tournament found its new home in west Michigan in 2004, and returned the tournament to the original format of only law enforcement, fire, corrections or military. The Copper Cup hockey tournament is back again in Bay City and continuing with its original format. Law Enforcement Torch Run

TODAY IS THE DAY… FINALLY AFTER A FULL YEAR. First responders and military from across the Midwest will be converging on Hartland Ice House to compete to win the coveted Copper Cup!

Remember all of this is to raise money for Special Olympics of Michigan. So come watch, play and donate. A Copper Cup favorite is the giant raffle. This will be tomorrow, Saturday 3/21 from about noon-8.

Today kicks off with the first 10 games of round robin, follow along to see how day 1 shakes out!

We currently have 18 teams signed up and are quickly closing in on the starting date of March 20th.

A large raffle will be held throughout the 21st with prizes being drawn around 8pm.

The tournament schedule should be released by next Monday pending no changes.

Stay tuned while we close in on the hunt for the coveted Copper Cup.

Semi final C game 1, was dominated for the majority of the play by Oakland County. Oakland county defeated MSP C 6-3. Oakland Co will move on to play in the C finals at 130.

Game 2 of tournament play was another hard fought game. Southfield PD and Friends vs United Enforcers ended regulation with a 3-3 tie. After the first three shooters the game was still tied. Going into extra shooters, ultimately Southfield PD and Friends came out victorious!
Southfield PD will move on to play the Leatherheads in the B semi finals at 12.
