FINISH! CONGRATS to our 2026 HTC TEAM! Check out our stories for their journey and finish
200 miles.
36 legs.
2 vans.
1 incredible team.
Countless memories.
Our MS Run the US Hood to Coast team left everything out on the course this weekend. We ran through the mountains, across the valleys, and all the way to the Pacific Ocean-supporting one another every step of the way and running for everyone impacted by multiple sclerosis.
To our runners, volunteers, supporters, donors, and everyone who cheered us on along the route: thank you.
This weekend was about so much more than a race. It was about community, purpose, and proving what we can accomplish together.
Until next year...

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Hood to Coast Relay weekend starts NOW! 🧡
Months of training. Countless miles. Incredible fundraising. And now...it's time.

Our MS Run the US team is ready to take on 200 miles from Mount Hood to the Oregon Coast, fueled by teamwork, determination, and a mission that's bigger than the finish line.

Every mile we run helps raise awareness and critical funds for people living with multiple sclerosis.

Follow along all weekend as we share the highs, the laughs, the van life, and every unforgettable exchange.

Let's do this! 🌲🌊

Derek Stefureac is joining us from Las Vegas, NV, and his running journey is pretty incredible. After being diagnosed with MS in 2011, Derek quit smoking and started jogging. At the time, he could barely run half a mile without his left leg dragging behind him. Through lifestyle changes, positivity, and a LOT of running, he went from struggling to run ½ mile to qualifying for and running the Boston Marathon!

These days, Derek brings some extra fun to his races by running in a corn costume as “The Kernel.” 🌽 At this year’s Boston Marathon, he gave hundreds of high fives and soaked up the cheers from the crowd.

He’s excited for Hood to Coast because it combines his love of running, teamwork, new experiences, awareness, entertainment, and giving back.

Fun fact: Derek attended Michael Jackson’s birthday party at Neverland Ranch in 2003! 🎉

We are pumped to have The Kernel on the team! 🌽

Greg is joining us from Billings, MT, and he’s no stranger to the MS Run the US family! Although he’s been a runner for most of his life, his MS Run the US journey began with the 2025 Ultra Relay, when he completed Segment 3 from Las Vegas to Panaca, Nevada.

As someone living with MS, Greg runs to show that we can continue to do hard things, pursue big goals, and live productive, meaningful lives despite the adversity that can come with the disease. He’s grateful to still be running and is passionate about making his miles matter for something bigger than simply training for the next race.

Since joining MS Run the US, Greg has continued finding ways to combine his love of running with adventure and purpose. In addition to the 2025 relay, he completed the Colorado Marathon and stepped in to run Segment 12 of the 2026 Ultra Relay, adding two states he had never visited before to his running adventures.

For Greg, running is a pretty great way to see the country—and Hood to Coast is the perfect opportunity to keep making those miles matter. 🏃‍♂️🏔️💙

We’re so grateful to have Greg back on the team and can’t wait to see where these next miles take him!

Jake is joining us from Seattle, WA, where he works as an IT engineer. When he’s not working, you can usually find him doing one of two things: performing or watching improv comedy 🎭 or getting out on one of the Pacific Northwest’s many beautiful trails. 🌲🏃‍♂️

Jake is running with MS Run the US for a deeply personal reason. His grandmother lives with a rare condition similar to MS that affects her mobility, giving Jake a firsthand understanding of how challenging—and expensive—it can be to navigate a world that isn’t always designed with every body in mind.

For Jake, these miles are about more than the challenge of Hood to Coast. They’re an opportunity to raise awareness, support the MS community, and help create a world that is more accessible and inclusive for people living with mobility challenges.

We’re so excited to have Jake on the team and can’t wait to see him take on the roads of Oregon with us! 🏔️

📍Oregon, we're here!
The vans are loaded, the team is together, and the excitement is building. Over the next 200 miles, our MS Run the US team will take on one of the most iconic relay races in the world—Hood to Coast—all while running to create a world free of MS. 🧡

If you spot our orange and black decked out vans this weekend, give us a honk, a wave, or a cheer! We can't wait to share this adventure with you.

Erika Lowe is joining us from Seattle, WA, where she wears a few different hats—she owns and runs Seattle Comedy Theater and Homes by Erika Lowe. Talk about a busy schedule! 😄

This will be Erika’s third Hood to Coast, and she’s got a pretty epic long-term goal: to eventually run all 12 legs of the course so she can experience the entire Hood to Coast route. So far, she’s tackled Leg 9 and Leg 11, and she’s adding another chapter to the adventure this year with MS Run the US!

Erika is especially excited to be part of the 2026 MS Run the US Hood to Coast team because she gets to run alongside people from all over the country while raising funds and awareness for MS. Her motivation is deeply personal—three women in her life have been diagnosed with MS, and she runs in their honor. 💙

And every Hood to Coast runner needs a signature snack. Erika’s? Peach-O-Rama giant peaches from Metropolitan Market! 🍑 When they’re in season during H2C, she brings a 12-pack to share with the van. Honestly, that’s the kind of teammate everyone wants at 3 a.m. 😂

Fun fact: Erika is the only woman who independently owns her own comedy club in Seattle! 🎤

We’re so excited to have Erika bringing her miles, her heart, her humor, and—most importantly—her peaches to the team this year! 🏃‍♀️🍑

Avery is joining us from Travelers Rest, SC, and we’re excited to welcome her to the Hood to Coast team! She’s especially looking forward to the adventure, the challenge, and the opportunity to raise awareness for MS alongside the MS Run the US community.

Avery is also part of one of our special mother-daughter duos this year, running alongside her mom, Jennifer, who we just introduced! We love seeing families come together to take on big challenges with an even bigger purpose.

Fun fact: Avery ran her first marathon at just 21 years old, during her senior year of college! 🎓🏃‍♀️ And now she’s adding Hood to Coast to the list of adventures. We can’t wait to see what this mother-daughter duo gets up to! 🏔️
