Segment 11 | Day 1

Today was Chris’s first day of his third segment; he also ran in 2021 and 2023! 💪🏼Until the last hour of his morning, the sky was cloudy and he battled a constant trickle of rain and fog. 🌧️ Despite the humidity, the temperature remained manageable and Chris ran an impressive 35 miles. He was joined by his wife Lindsay for the last 5 miles and she helped keep his spirits high! 🤠

As a MS Run the US alumnus, Chris is a key figure for the community and has been highly involved in the relay for years. 🏃🏼Chris runs for his mom Joyce, who has had MS since 1988, and his friend Kevin, who was diagnosed with MS in 2018. 🧡

Segment 10 | Day 5

Brandon finished his section of the segment a day early and rounded out day 5 with a wonderful 29 miles! 🥇 He woke up with restored energy and some bittersweet emotions, yet still remained strong along almost 20 miles of hilly road. 🌾 Road crew nicknamed him the tourist runner because he consistently stopped to take pictures throughout the whole segment. 📸 His positive attitude was just as beneficial as his fitness base and he made his last day appear enjoyable and full of ease. Amazing work Brandon!! 🏃🏻🧡

Segment 10 | Day 4

Today Brandon started to really feel the slowness and fatigue from the previous few days, but kept the goal of running 30 miles.🏃🏻 But towards the very end of his run, something switched and he started to feel amazing. Where we had agreed to finish, Brandon sprinted past and shouted “give me one more mile!”💨 💪🏼 Not everyday of the relay is going to be a breeze, but sometimes, if you’re lucky, you’ll find yourself having fun and cherish the ability to keep going. 🧡

Segment 10 | Day 3

Today Brandon started at 5:45am to beat the heat. 🥵 For the first 8ish miles his stomach and legs felt heavy, but after digesting a banana, everything clicked and he “found some sort of homeostasis.” 💥 He quite literally rocked his 29 miles and crew stops were a quick jumble of plain bagels, pouring ice cold water on his shirt, and electrolytes. 🧊 Incredible energy today Brandon!! 🎸
