I never run races anymore, and running anywhere or any time has been problematic for some time. Even so, I have signed up for this race because the organization that puts it on is an amazing resource for kids in the area who would otherwise have a less than happy Christmas season. Each year they match thousands of families with thousands of donors who purchase gifts according to the child's "wish list." and present them to the parents to be distributed to their children in any way they want. maybe the gifts come form Santa, or mom and dad, or a mysterious donor. It doesn't mater, but making the holiday special for kids in need makes everyone involved a winner. With that in mind, I am going to "train" to beat my feet for a 5K again. If you wish to join me, sign up and I will try to get to the finish line before nightfall. If you don't want to run, consider joining the family of donors. The people we have met along the way, organizers, parents and kids have made a place in my heart.
The Jingle Bell Jog is on Sunday July 16, 2023. It includes the following events: 5K Run, 2 Mile Walk, and Kiddos Run.
