Some days it’s crazy
And many days our people feel invisible.

But the team still pulls up💙

Mike and Angel out on the block today with Narcan, safe use supplies, cold drinks, snacks, conversations, resources, and respect. No judgment, No lectures, Just real people showing up for the community every single day.

Sometimes harm reduction looks like saving a life.
Sometimes it looks like handing somebody water and asking if they’re okay.

Either way we standing in the gap

Love is the message. 💜

On Tuesday, May 19th from 10AM–3PM, Connecticut Harm Reduction Alliance will be hosting a free community testing event at 557–559 Albany Ave in Hartford.

We’ll have:
• Free HIV & Hep C testing
• Wheeler Clinic support services
• CTHRA Drug Checking Team
• Domestic violence support
• Our CTHRA MAT RV with our street outreach nurse on site
• SIS You Matter women’s group sign-ups
• HCTC Hartford Communities That Care

No judgment. No pressure. Just community, support, resources, and people who care.

Pull up, ask questions, get tested, grab resources, or just come connect. Your health matters and so do you.

This work is about showing up every single day.
For real people In real places.

• Outside of Covenant Soup Kitchen in Willimantic
• Our RV and outreach teams throughout the community

Whether someone needs naloxone, harm reduction supplies, safer use supplies Testing, shelter connections, treatment referrals, or simply someone willing to listen without judgment , we’re here.

Harm reduction is more than a service.
It’s compassion.
It’s dignity.
It’s refusing to give up on people.

To everybody in the field doing this work with heart , thank you.
And to our community: you are never forgotten.

Wake Up Wednesday & We outside

Pull up!!

Every Wednesday we’re out there with the community, no pressure, no judgment.

CTHRA team will be there offering:
– Housing referrals
– Connection to treatment
– Support services
– Harm reduction supplies
– Naloxone available

Or… just come through and kick it with us

You don’t gotta have everything figured out.
You don’t even gotta know where to start.

That’s what we’re here for.

We’ll meet you where you’re at and help you move toward where you’re trying to go.

In Memory of Buck 🕊️

It’s hard to put into words what Buck meant to this community.

If you knew him, you already know… he was always around. Always checking on people And Always making sure folks were good. It didn’t matter how he was feeling, he still showed up.

And he showed up right"

Always dressed sharp, clean, and put together. Pulling up in that Cadillac like it was part of who he was. When you saw Buck, you felt his presence.

But what stood out most wasn’t the fly clothes and sawg, it was the way he treated people. The way he treated each and every one of us here at CTHRA and in the community.

Buck believed in this work, but more than that, he believed in people. He wasnt there to judge. Never had an ego. He Just showed up and showed love!

He was a big part of harm reduction in a real way. Not just talking about it but living it, every day.

"We’re going to miss him for real"

If you have a moment, please take time to read his obituary and learn more about the life he lived and the family he loved.

Rest easy, Buck.

This is where our outreach ambassadors show up for the community every day. We are connecting people with health resources, supplies,support and care.

Our van at CTHRA isn’t just a vehicle.
It’s become a place where people can stop, ask questions, and get connected to services that help keep our community healthier and stronger so If you see the van, feel free to stop by and say hello.
