CONNECTICUT FORGED: DONOVAN CLINGAN

Connecticut doesn’t just produce talent.
Connecticut produces anchors.
Foundations.
Championship DNA.

And no modern athlete embodies that truth more profoundly than Donovan Clingan.

A 7-foot-2 force from Bristol who dominated CIAC gyms long before he dominated March Madness, Clingan represents a lineage of Connecticut greatness built on resilience, skill, and an unwavering sense of purpose. He didn’t just win at Bristol Central. He defined an era.

30 points. 18 rebounds. 6 blocks.
Back-to-back Gatorade Player of the Year.
A state champion before he ever touched a college floor.

Then came UConn.
Two national titles.
A transformation from local legend to a national spectacle.
A center who controlled games with verticality, timing, and a competitive edge the country hadn’t seen from a homegrown Connecticut big man since the old Big East wars.

He carried his mother’s number.
He carried a city’s heartbeat.
And now he carries a state’s pride into the NBA.

Drafted seventh overall by Portland.
NBA All-Rookie Second Team.
A franchise cornerstone in the making.

Donovan Clingan is more than a prospect.
He is the proof that Connecticut athletes rise when the system allows them to thrive. His story is exactly why CIAC Inc. demands a modernized, transparent, athlete-first framework: because the next Clingan is already in a gym somewhere, waiting for a structure that truly honors their path.

The Connecticut Forged campaign honors athletes who made their name on our hardwood and carried our identity onto the national stage. Clingan stands at the center of that legacy.

Forged in Bristol.
Crowned in Storrs.
Ascending in Portland.
Rooted in Connecticut forever.

CONNECTICUT FORGED: ABDOU TOURE

Before the letters arrived.
Before the official visits.
Before Arkansas locked in one of the most explosive wings in America…
there was a kid from West Haven rewriting what Connecticut basketball looks like.

Abdou Toure is not just a top-40 national recruit.
He is the prototype of the new CT athlete:
fast, physical, violent at the rim, and built with a mentality sharpened in gyms where nothing is given and everything is earned.

A wrecking ball in transition.
A first step that erases defenders.
A finisher who jumps like he’s trying to tear the rim off the glass.
And now, a Razorback.

But the story starts in Connecticut.

From Notre Dame–West Haven to the top of the 2026 class, Toure represents the next generation that CIAC Inc. is fighting to protect: high-ceiling athletes who deserve a statewide system that matches their talent, their ambition, and their future.

His rise matters because it proves what our state can produce when the pipeline hasn’t been fractured by politics, underinvestment, or outdated structures.
He is the embodiment of why the Connecticut Forged campaign exists.

Abdou Toure is not just going to the SEC.
He is carrying Connecticut with him.

And he is reminding the country, one dunk at a time, that the next wave of national stars can come from right here—if we build the right system around them.

Forged in West Haven.
Feared everywhere else.

CONNECTICUT FORGED: TYLER BOOKER

Connecticut produces grinders. Connecticut produces leaders.
But every once in a generation, Connecticut produces a force.

Tyler Booker didn’t just leave New Haven.
He carried New Haven with him.

From St. Luke’s to IMG Academy.
From four-star prospect to SEC dominance.
From anchoring Alabama’s line to hearing his name called 12th overall by the Dallas Cowboys.
This is not a lucky rise. This is a forged one.

Booker represents the new lineage of Connecticut football excellence: disciplined, technical, relentless, and built with a mindset sharpened by early responsibility and early expectations. Every rep, every weight room session, every challenge became fuel. And the world felt the results.

First-Team All-American.
Two-time First-Team All-SEC.
Starter from day one in the NFL.

Tyler Booker is the standard for what Connecticut can produce when talent is cultivated, protected, and elevated the right way. His path mirrors what CIAC Inc. is fighting for: a statewide athlete pipeline grounded in real development, transparent structure, and the kind of mentorship that turns potential into legacy.

This is why Connecticut deserves a system worthy of its athletes.
This is why the Connecticut Forged campaign exists.
Tyler Booker is proof that when Connecticut iron meets opportunity, the outcome is unstoppable.

Forged in New Haven.
Refined in Alabama.
Unleashed on Sundays.

CONNECTICUT FORGED: VIN BAKER

Connecticut didn’t just produce a star. It forged one.

Before the All-Star selections, before the Olympic gold, before the NBA championship as a coach, there was a lanky kid from Old Saybrook walking into a small gym with a dream bigger than the rims bolted to the walls. Vin Baker wasn’t handed a path. He built one. Hammered it. Carried it. Survived it.

Hartford didn’t recruit the headlines. Hartford recruited the worker.
And the worker became a legend.

Vin Baker is more than numbers or banners. He is a living reminder of what Connecticut talent becomes when the state invests, believes, and refuses to abandon its own. His rise is the blueprint. His fall and resurrection are the testimony. His coaching success is the victory lap he earned through discipline, humility, and a refusal to let Connecticut’s story be written by anyone else.

This is why we fight for CIAC Inc.
This is why we insist on transparent governance, athlete protection, and a real pipeline that honors every student-athlete from small towns to cities.
Vin stood tall long before it was fashionable to come from a “small school.”
Now Connecticut stands taller because of him.

This is Connecticut Forged.
A campaign honoring the icons our state raised, the communities that shaped them, and the new generation we protect through truth, accountability, and elevation.

Forged under pressure.
Forged through adversity.
Forged in Connecticut.

At MJS Creatives, we stand for community, transparency, and accountability. 🖤

We hold Connecticut institutions accountable—like the Connecticut Association of Schools—for mismanagement, ignorance, and unprofessional conduct surrounding the CIAC, an entity they do not legally own. Our mission is clear: amplify the voices of the community, expose systemic failures, and advocate for ethical stewardship of education and athletics.

We believe in intelligent oversight, equity, and responsible governance—because our youth, our athletes, and our communities deserve nothing less.

⚽ Kristine Lilly: A Living Legend of U.S. Women’s Soccer

From Wilton, Connecticut, to the global stage, Kristine Marie Lilly Heavey’s soccer career is a testament to dedication, longevity, and breaking barriers. As the most-capped football player in women’s history with 354 international appearances and 130 goals, Lilly’s impact on the pitch is immeasurable—and her legacy extends far beyond the game.

Lilly’s journey began early. While still in high school, she joined the U.S. Women’s National Team and went on to dominate collegiate soccer at North Carolina, winning four NCAA Championships and securing the Hermann Trophy and Honda Sports Award as one of the nation’s top players. Her jersey ( #15) was retired in recognition of her exceptional contributions.

At the professional level, Lilly became a pioneer. She competed internationally with Sweden’s Tyresö FF and helped launch the Boston Breakers, captaining the team in the inaugural season of the first fully professional women’s soccer league. She proved herself on every stage—domestically and abroad—earning accolades and inspiring a generation of female athletes.

On the world stage, Lilly is a two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion (1991, 1999) and three-time Olympic gold medalist (1996, 2004), with a silver medal in 2000. She became the first woman to appear in five World Cup Finals, scoring at age 36 to show that skill and determination have no expiration date. Her career exemplifies resilience, leadership, and unrelenting pursuit of excellence.

Since retiring, Lilly has continued to shape the game as a coach and mentor, fostering new talent and advocating for women’s sports. At CIAC Inc. Advocacy, we celebrate Kristine Lilly as more than an athlete—she is a trailblazer, role model, and symbol of possibility for every aspiring athlete.

💡 Takeaway: True champions elevate others while breaking boundaries, and Kristine Lilly’s career reminds us that legacy is earned through consistency, courage, and an unwavering love for the game.

🏀 Lamar Odom: Beyond the Court – A Journey of Triumph, Struggle, and Resilience

From the streets of South Jamaica, Queens, to NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, Lamar Odom’s life is a complex tapestry of talent, perseverance, and human vulnerability. At CIAC Inc. Advocacy, we celebrate not only athletic achievement but the stories of resilience that define true character.

Odom’s journey was never linear. A high school phenom at St. Thomas Aquinas in Connecticut, he earned national recognition as Parade Player of the Year in 1997. A standout at the University of Rhode Island, Odom led the Rams to an Atlantic 10 Championship, earning Rookie of the Year honors and proving early that greatness often comes to those who fight through adversity.

Drafted 4th overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in 1999, Odom’s NBA career spanned the Clippers, Miami Heat, Lakers, and Mavericks, highlighted by two NBA championships with the Lakers (2009, 2010) and the prestigious Sixth Man of the Year award in 2011. Off the court, Odom faced personal tragedies, battles with addiction, and public scrutiny — yet he returned, time and again, to rewrite his narrative.

His story is not just basketball; it’s a blueprint in human resilience. Odom leveraged his experiences to inspire others, eventually founding Rich Soil Entertainment and later contributing to senior care innovations as Chief Creative Officer at ZNest. He transformed personal struggle into purpose, mentoring, creating, and advocating for communities often overlooked.

At CIAC Inc. Advocacy, we shine a light on the multi-dimensional stories of athletes like Lamar Odom — reminding us all that legacy is not only measured in points and rebounds but in the courage to overcome, rebuild, and elevate.

💡 Takeaway: True champions are defined not solely by their victories, but by their capacity to rise after falling, to innovate, and to leave a lasting impact beyond the game.
