Leadership in action, right here in Hartford! 🚌🍂

Yesterday, our QUEST 2026 cohort took learning beyond the classroom for our annual Community Tour, meeting the leaders and organizations helping shape Hartford’s future.

From civic engagement and entrepreneurship to innovation, youth empowerment, and community impact, each stop offered fresh perspectives on how we can lead and make a difference together.

Brave conversations can open the door to stronger connections! 🤝

Last night, participants gathered at Raymond Library for Session 3 of our Leadership Workshop Series, “Brave Conversations: From Conflict to Connection.” Together, we explored practical ways to navigate difficult conversations, listen with curiosity, and turn disagreement into opportunities for understanding.

Executive Orientation Program (EOP) Session Three was all about Regional Vitality, with conversations around economic development, small business, arts, culture, and parks!

Our cohort explored how these interconnected areas shape Greater Hartford, support local opportunities, and make our region a vibrant place to live, work, and connect. Together, we considered the role of businesses, cultural organizations, and public spaces in strengthening our communities.

LGH is proud to be one of 28 regional organizations that have participated in the Social Enterprise Accelerator, offered through the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation Nonprofit Support Program.

Yesterday, participating organizations gathered at Chrysalis Center for a day of learning, sharing, and connection.

With leadership from Larry Clark and Michael Oxman of No Margin No Mission, these organizations have developed strategic, innovative social enterprises that generate revenue while advancing their missions.

And the collective impact is impressive: nearly $23 million in earned income to date. That’s $23 million in additional resources generated by nonprofits and reinvested in their organizations, missions, and communities.

We’re grateful to Greater Hartford Gives Foundation for investing in capacity-building initiatives like this one, and for continuing to create opportunities for nonprofits across our region to learn with and from one another.

Does your organization help people connect, belong, engage, and thrive? Join us as a community exhibitor at LGH’s annual Leadership Breakfast! 🤝

We’re inviting local organizations and businesses that strengthen relationships, build belonging, and create a more vibrant Greater Hartford to showcase their work.

Connect with approximately 250 leaders from across the region before and after the program, share your mission, and build new relationships.

Please join us in welcoming Edwin Miller, who is joining Leadership Greater Hartford this fall as an Encore Connecticut Fellow!

A former Vice President at Comcast Business and founder of EGM Strategy Partners, Edwin brings deep experience in organizational strategy, leadership development, and helping mission-driven organizations turn ideas into action. He was drawn to LGH by our commitment to developing leaders and building stronger, more vibrant communities.

Over the next two months, Edwin will put that experience to work as we prepare for our 50th anniversary in 2027. He’ll listen and learn from our alumni, identify opportunities to deepen engagement, and help us explore new ways for alumni to connect with LGH, with one another, and with our community, while developing an alumni engagement strategy for our 50th anniversary year and beyond.

We’re excited to welcome Edwin to the LGH team and look forward to the ideas and perspective he’ll bring to this work!

Executive Orientation Program (EOP) Session Two was all about Education, Workforce Development, and Pathways to Opportunity!

Our cohort spent the day exploring the people, programs, and organizations creating opportunities across our region. We visited Fresh Start Worx’s new warehouse in East Hartford, Women’s League Child Development Center, and the Swift Factory, gaining a firsthand look at the work happening within our communities.

We also heard from leaders representing RSCO, North Hartford Partnership, and CT State Community College, who shared valuable perspectives on education, workforce development, and building stronger pathways to success.

A special thank you to Jenna Columbus, Karen Lott, Buster Jenkins, Vincent Crawford, Shola Freeman, and Sharale Mathis for sharing your experiences, insight, and wisdom with our cohort. We’re grateful for the conversations, connections, and learning that made Session Two such a meaningful day! 💙
