The Musical Minds Learning Center

The Musical Minds Learning Center Musical Minds Learning Center creates a learning environment that provides the highest order of professionalism and education in all major aspects of music

Musical Minds Center is needed to make a difference. Our initiative is to increase Hartford's CT graduation rate, public schools GPA and help reduce the inner city crime rate. We will bring celebrities from different genres of music and use music as a motivation to teach students specific tools and techniques to deal with problems such as fighting, arguing with parents, lying, picking on classmate

s and behavior problems in school and in the community. Behaviorally troubled teens lack the skills to solve the problems they encounter every day. We help them with these problems and teach them to grow out of their old set of beliefs and bad habits into new creative and artistic habits. The environment and parents are important for the behavior and choices of adolescents. That’s why we build a good relationship with individuals and setup a learning environment that gives it a peaceful home setting feeling. We become a positive peer group/friend to offer them the opportunity to develop various social skills, such as empathy, morals and leadership. Peer groups can have positive influences on an individual, for instance on academic motivation and performance. Being around the wrong peers can have a negative influence and lead to experimentation with drugs, drinking, vandalism, and stealing. Our program keeps them away from negative peers and teaches them the skills to realize their ambitions.

Did You Know Music Fact! Did you know Beethoven was the first composer who never had an official court position, thus the first known freelance musician. Born in 1770, he grew up poor, but published his first work at age 12. By age 20 he was famous. He often sold the same score to six or seven different publishers simultaneously, and demanded unreasonably large fees for the simplest work. He was short, stocky, dressed badly, didn’t like to bath, lived in squalor, used crude language, openly conducted affairs with married women, and had a STD. Beethoven was deaf when he composed his Ninth Symphony.

Morning Quote: “Nothing truly stops you. Nothing truly holds you back. For your own will is always within your control. Sickness may challenge your body. But are you merely your body? Lameness may impede your legs. But you are not merely your legs. Your will is bigger than your legs. Your will needn’t be affected by an incident unless you let it.” -Epictetus
