🎉 Celebrating 75 Years of Harc! 🎉
On May 8th, we proudly celebrated a remarkable milestone, Harc’s 75th Anniversary! This special day brought together members of our community, including Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam, who presented Harc's President & CEO, Russell Coleman, the proclamation, recognizing 75 years of service. We also had Senator Slap, Representative Gilchrest, and Senator Lesser, who gave inspiring speeches, sharing their own testimonies and political duty in support of Harc. As well as Board member and true veteran of Harc, Albert, who gave a touching and inspiring speech, speaking from the heart, and gave testimony of what the years have truly meant to him. As well as our founding families and the broader Harc community, which included DDS Commissioner and former Harc President, Andrea Barton Reeves.
Guests enjoyed refreshments, received Harc swag bags, and had the opportunity to purchase our signature 75th anniversary t-shirts. Our Harc Artisan Studio was open for business, showcasing beautiful, handcrafted creations made by Harc's creative Artisans.
We also offered guided tours, giving visitors a firsthand look at Harc in action and the meaningful work we do every day to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The space was thoughtfully decorated to reflect Harc’s journey, from our founding year in 1951 to the mission-driven organization we are today.
Thank you to TANGO and NFP for providing ASL Interpreter, Tony, who helped make the event space more inclusive for people of all abilities.
It was a memorable celebration filled with connection, reflection, and inspiration. Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring 75 years of changing lives and changing minds, and looking ahead to a future full of possibility, dignity, and inclusion. 💙
