Tonight, Hartford Fire hosted our neighbors from Penrhyn Engine & Hose / Middle Granville Fire Dept for a joint training exercise.

Both departments worked simultaneously on initial Engine Company operations, search & rescue with victim removal, laddering and command structure.

Several high intensity evolutions were completed with plenty of learning points to go around.

Thank you to Middle Granville Fire for making the trip over!

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Engine 1 & a crew of 6 assisted on the scene of a residential fire in the Hudson Falls Fire District.

An aggressive interior attack coordinated with ventilation from first arriving companies led to a quick knockdown and suppression of the fire.

Hartford firefighters were assigned FAST (RIT) with Bay Ridge Fire, and were later assigned to the interior to assist with overhaul.

*Station 34 handles multiple incidents on 07/03/2026*

At 14:19 hours, the Granville Fire Department first alarm box assignment was struck for a reported house on fire in the 1200 block of Baker Road in the Granville Fire District. Due to the location of the incident, the Granville pre-plan calls for a full-house response from Station 34.

Within 5 minutes of the time of dispatch, Engine 1 & Tanker 3 were on the street. The Granville Fire Chief arrived first on scene and confirmed smoke showing from the eaves of the single-family residence. Engine 1 arrived as the first due apparatus and took the driveway at the orders of Granville Fire Command. Engine 1's crew stretched 2 primary attack handlines and Tanker 3 staged on the roadway in the event a water supply needed to be established. Hartford and Granville crews worked to quickly locate the source of the fire and began overhaul operations. Engine 2, Squad 4 and Brush 5 responded to the scene and supplemented additional personnel.

While crews were picking up from the Granville incident, at 15:01 hours the call was received for a reported motorcycle accident on State Route 149 between Northrup Lane & Hall Road in the Town of Hartford. Per the Zone 1 daytime automatic mutual aid plan, Fort Ann Fire / Rescue was added to the assignment. Engine 2, Squad 4 and Brush 5 cleared the fire scene and responded directly to the accident. Upon arrival, State Route 149 was shut down by Fort Ann RT 4 and Brush 3, whilst Hartford medical personnel assisted EMS on the scene with patient care and packaging.

During the operations of the accident scene, Washington County, NY - Department of Public Safety County Medic and Argyle Emergency Squad Command requested a medical helicopter to the Hartford Central School. Engine 1 and Tanker 3 handled the landing zone for LifeNet of New York Helicopter 7-13.

Additionally, at 19:28 hours Hartford First-Responders responded with Argyle Emergency Squad to a medical emergency in our primary response area.

Hartford Fire would like to thank our surrounding mutual-aid partners for their continued support!

Last evening, crews took both Engines’ to the street and stretched over 900 feet of attack handlines.

Utilizing the Hebron Volunteer Fire Company fill site location on Cross Rd, Engine 1 had all crosslays pulled and flowing water simultaneously, being supplied by Engine 2.

Once the training evolution was finalized, members ensured each line that was pulled ended back on the truck packed to the Hartford standard.

While members were out training, additional apparatus remained ready for any primary response area calls for service.

This evening, while crews were conducting weekly Tuesday training evolutions, a community member requested the fire department's assistance with a feline stuck in a tree.

Oscar, had made his way approximately 30 feet up a tree and was stuck between two branches. He was unable to move and is believed to have been there for approximately 48 hours.

Utilizing an extension ladder off of Engine 2, Oscar was able to be freed from his place of entrapment and safely returned to his owner.
