Today marks the 81st anniversary of D-Day — June 6, 1944 — a turning point in history when thousands of Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy to help liberate Europe from tyranny.

Eighty-one years ago today, my dad was on a ship bound for Portsmouth, England, preparing for what would become one of the most significant military operations of all time. I can only imagine the uncertainty and courage it took to be part of that moment.

Today, I remember the heroes of D-Day — and I honor my father’s place in that history.

We will never forget.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day at Mount Saint Benedict 🇺🇸

On Memorial Day, our Assembly gathered at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield for a solemn Mass held inside the mausoleum, celebrated by Father Ruminski. We set up 100 chairs, and many joined us in honoring those who gave their lives for our country.

Following the Mass, we processed to the Monument for the Unborn, where Father Ruminski offered a heartfelt prayer in remembrance.

Our officers wore tuxedos, and the Honor Guard in full regalia, led by Color Corps Commander John Wrynn, brought reverence and dignity to the day.

Thank you to all who shared in this meaningful tribute of faith and remembrance.
