Hartford Gay Men's Chorus The Official page of the Hartford Gay Men's Chorus The Hartford Gay Men’s Chorus is beginning their 14th season.

Founded in 2012, the 50+ voice ensemble is celebrated for its musicianship, creative programming and community outreach. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Christopher Clark and Executive Director Robert Reader, the HGMC sings a wide range of music as catalyst to inspire, impact and enrich the lives of our members, patrons, and the community. The HGMC recognizes the sociopolitical statement

inherent in being an openly gay organization and, as such, representatives of the LGBTQ+ community. In addition to our concerts we represent the LGBTQ+ community through partnerships with other gay and gay-affirming organizations, outreach within our community and beyond, and participation and performances at pride events, cultural celebrations, civic programs, sporting events and other special occasions. Vision: The Hartford Gay Men’s Chorus will be one of the premier performing arts organizations in New England. Mission: The Hartford Gay Men’s Chorus will use music as a catalyst to inspire, impact, and enrich the lives of our members, patrons, and the community.

The Hartford Gay Men's Chorus (HGMC) is excited to announce an opening for an Associate Music Director who will also serve as Director of On That Note!, our a ca****la ensemble.

We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and collaborative music professional who is committed to artistic excellence and creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for singers of all backgrounds.

Position Responsibilities
• Serve as Associate Music Director for the Chorus
• Direct and lead rehearsals for On That Note! HGMC’s a ca****la group
• Assist with music preparation and rehearsal planning
• Conduct performances as assigned
• Collaborate closely with the Artistic Director and leadership team
• Support the artistic growth and musical development of singers
• Help foster a welcoming, positive, and inclusive rehearsal atmosphere
• Artistic Advisory Council

Qualifications
• Passion for music and choral performance
• Prior experience conducting vocal ensembles or choruses
• Strong rehearsal and leadership skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with singers and artistic staff
• Experience with a ca****la music preferred
• Piano skills are a plus, but not required

Compensation
This position includes a stipend.
