UPDATE: ADOPTION PENDING!!

We are now accepting applications for our sweet Gigi girl!

Gigi was taken in to Kenways the beginning of May when she was found wrapped in a blanket behind an apartment building in Hartford with her three newborn babies. Sadly, one of her babies didn't survive, but the other two have grown into happy, healthy pups.

NOW...it's Momma's turn!

Gigi is approximately 2 years old and weighs 18.7 pounds. We were convinced she had Corgi in her, but because we had no idea who dad was, we DNA tested one of her puppies. Surprise! Not a trace of Corgi! Her puppy's results showed a mix of Chihuahua, Yorkshire Terrier, Pomeranian, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and Shih Tzu, so Gigi likely has some combination of those breeds as well.

To say Gigi is an absolute sweetheart would be an understatement. Every time we walk into her foster home, she can't decide whether to jump for joy, shower us with kisses, or roll over for belly rubs—so she usually does all three at once! 😂 She has so much love to give, and after everything she's been through, we cannot wait to see her with a family of her own.

If you're looking for a loyal companion and the love of your life, Gigi just might be your girl.

Gigi has done very well with other dogs. She simply prefers friends who respect her space. If another dog gets a little too "up in her grill," she'll let them know with a tiny snarly-snarl, but that's the extent of it. Because of this, she'd do best with a calm, respectful canine companion rather than a high-energy dog that doesn't understand boundaries. We don't know how she is with cats but if anyone is interested who has a feline at home we can certainly arrange a meet and greet.

Honestly, Gigi's favorite thing in the world is simply being with people. She's happiest curled up beside you on the couch, soaking up affection while binge-watching Netflix together.

Gigi has been spayed, you may be wondering about that "bump" in the corner of her right eye and that is what is referred to as "cherry eye". It's nothing to worry about and she is scheduled to have it removed on 8/6.

🐾 Welcome, Perseus! 🐾
This sweet little guy was found by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan in her chicken coop! We're so grateful she stepped in to rescue him and offered to foster him while he waits for his forever family.
We are now accepting adoption applications for Percy, though he will need to be neutered before heading home with his new family.
Here's what we know about this adorable boy:
🐾 Approximately 12 weeks old
🐱 Super friendly and playful
💙 A nonstop purring machine
🍪 Makes biscuits like a pro
✅ Litter box trained
🙌 Tested negative for FIV/FeLV
Perseus is currently living with other cats and dogs and gets along well with everyone. He does get a little nervous when the resident 60-pound dog gets a bit too excited—but who can blame him? He would do well in a home with other cats and/or cat-savvy dogs.
He's also been great with the children in his foster home. However, like many kittens, he's very playful and loves to pounce on hands and feet, so a home with very young children may not be the best fit.
Percy is sure to bring endless smiles and laughter to his lucky forever family!
Adoption fee: $150
He will be fully vaccinated and neutered before adoption.

UPDATE - FOSTER SECURED!

FOSTER NEEDED
Sweet Nala is looking for a calm, loving foster home while she undergoes treatment for FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis).

Nala is approximately 7 months old. Initially she had what was presenting as an upper respiratory infection. When her symptoms didn't improve, our veterinarian performed extensive testing for FeLV, FIV, toxoplasmosis, and coronavirus—all of which came back negative. Based on her symptoms, the veterinarian now suspects FIP, and she will be starting treatment this coming week.

The good news is that while FIP was once considered fatal, there is now a highly successful treatment available. Nala will need medication for approximately 3 months, and we are hopeful she will begin showing improvement shortly after treatment begins.

A few things to know about Nala:
- Currently lives with another cat and does well with them
- Has not been around dogs
- Needs a quiet, low-stress environment while she recovers

FIP is NOT contagious between cats, so there is no risk of another cat "catching" FIP from Nala. Because reducing stress is so important during her recovery, we're hoping to find her a peaceful foster home where she can rest, heal, and receive lots of love.

If you can open your heart and home to this sweet girl, please complete our foster application:

Please share to help us find the perfect foster for Nala. ❤️

❤️🐾FOSTER HOME SECURED! ❤️🐾

Meet Cy. This sweet Boston Terrier was taken in by Hartford Animal Control on 7/9 and is looking for a foster home while he recovers.

Today, Cy will undergo an enucleation (eye removal), and he'll also be neutered and vaccinated. We promise to share better pictures as soon as he's feeling up to it.

Cy is 5 years old and has an incredibly sweet, gentle disposition. He is 4 years old and gets along well with other dogs and children (cats unknown).

We're looking for a caring foster who can provide a safe, quiet place for him to heal. We'll provide all of his supplies—you provide the love. ❤️

During recovery, Cy will need to wear an Elizabethan collar ("cone of shame") at all times until his sutures are removed, so it's important that his foster can help ensure he keeps it on.

If you're able to open your home to Cy, please complete our foster application here:
