What a difference some love, commitment and great veterinary care can make! We are so happy to share that Dolly is absolutely thriving in her foster home! She is just a ball of love and energy and loves everyone and everything she has met! We can’t thank you all enough, once again, for supporting us and our animals and sharing and donating ❤️❤️❤️❤️

UPDATE!! Foster secured! Stay tuned for updates on our sweet Dolly! Once she is medically cleared for her spay she will be available for adoption. We are looking forward to seeing her personality thrive now that she is on the road to recovery!

**We need your help with our girl Dolly!**

Our sweet Dolly has been in the ICU for over a week battling parvovirus, and we are SO happy to share that she is doing SO MUCH BETTER!

She’s eating on her own, her feeding tube has been removed, her tail is wagging, and she is so much brighter! This little girl has fought incredibly hard, and she is finally getting close to being ready for discharge. But we have one big problem...

Dolly has nowhere to go. 😕

We desperately need a foster home for just ONE MONTH so Dolly can finish recovering in a safe, loving home instead of remaining in isolation.

Dolly is about 30 lbs and approximately 5-6 months old. She's an absolute sweetheart!

Because Dolly is recovering from parvovirus, there are a few important requirements:

- If there are other dogs in the home, they MUST be current on their DHPP/DA2PP vaccines.

- Dolly will need a separate area of the yard for potty/defecation purposes. We can provide an exercise pen to make this easy!

- Kenway’s Cause will provide the supplies and veterinary care — we just need YOU to provide the safe place and love.

After more than a week in the ICU and isolation, it’s time for this girl to get out of there and into a home! ❤️

UPDATE ON DOLLY! She is doing well, no vomiting or diarrhea, white blood cell count is still low but improving; not eating yet but she is now getting an appetite stimulant so hopefully food is in the near future - overall she is stable and we couldn't be happier! Help us help Dolly!!!

This sweet girl was found very sick on the streets of Hartford by a Good Samaritan the morning of 9/9. Animal Control rushed her to the vet and she unfortunately tested positive for parvovirus.

We are committed to doing everything we can to get her through this. She is currently in ICU and we have authorized Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody (CPMA) which has had great results lately with helping with recovery. Fingers crossed!

Dolly is only about 5 months old and 30 pounds. While she is very sick right now, she is also SUPER sweet and has already stolen some hearts, including that of a young child she met. We’re guessing she may be a Lab/Pit/possibly Weimaraner mix — whatever she is, she is absolutely beautiful!

We are optimistic that Dolly will make a full recovery, and we want to be proactive in finding a loving foster home for her once she is feeling better and cleared for discharge. Dogs in the foster home must be current on their DHPP/DA2PP vaccinations.
