To our amazing Kenway’s Cause family,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts. Due to a decrease in funds and an unanticipated surgery needed for one of our current dogs, Kenway’s Cause has reached a point where we are unable to take on any new animals in need at this time.

Our miracle pup Noah, whom we welcomed into our rescue at the end of last year, almost didn't make it. Thankfully, he pulled through and has been thriving in his wonderful foster home ever since. Recently, however, it was discovered that he does not have a fully formed elbow joint, most likely due to a congenital birth defect. After consulting with our orthopedic surgeon, we received the difficult news that there is no surgical repair for his condition, and the best option for Noah will be to amputate his front leg. While this news is heartbreaking, we know from experience that dogs adapt incredibly well to life on three legs. Noah has already proven what a resilient little fighter he is, and we have no doubt he'll be back to running, playing, and enjoying life before long. Please keep Noah in your thoughts and prayers as he prepares for surgery on June 17. We know this brave boy has overcome so much already, and we're rooting for him every step of the way. ❤️

Every rescue, medical treatment, transport, and daily care expense adds up quickly, and we simply cannot continue our mission without the support of our community. Miss Mo is almost ready to find her forever home! Next week, she will be spayed, marking the final step in her medical. She has been thriving in her foster home and is doing a phenomenal job adjusting to her surroundings. While new things can still be a little scary to her, with continued love and support she will continue to thrive!

Currently about six months old, Mo is the snuggliest little lovebug you could ever meet. She brings joy and affection to everyone she encounters and loves to cuddle.

Mo shares her foster home with three dogs of various sizes and a cat. She is doing great with them all but if joining a feline household the cat(s) would need to be dog savvy as she does like to chase them when you're not looking 😉. She enjoys spending time with her human siblings and can't get enough love from them. She is also making great progress with potty training, consistently going outside.

As a playful and silly pup, Mo is ready for the next step in her journey: finding her forever family. Please keep in mind she does have typical puppy behaviors such as nibbles and chews and will rely on her new family to help guide her into being a proper lady! She also definitely needs a physical outlet as she's an energetic little bug.

Gigi has been so happy and relaxed in her foster home, she knows that she and her precious babies are now safe and loved. Have we mentioned how grateful we are for all of our fosters? 🐾 Join us in welcoming Gigi and her tiny pups to the Kenway’s family!

Found by Hartford Animal Control with her two sweet baby girls—estimated to be just 5 days old—this gorgeous 2-year-old Corgi mix is already stealing hearts. While she is understandably protective of her newborns, she quickly learned to trust the ACO and even treated herself to some belly rubs! 💖 Mom and pups are now headed to a quiet foster home to rest and grow. Stay tuned for updates on this precious family!

Meet Mo, one of our newest little loves! 🐶💫🧡

This darling 5 month old girl required immediate, specialized care for a pr*****ed re**um - a big *thank you* to the CT Humane Society for donating towards her procedure!

Mo is now settling into her foster home and, once we ensure everything is fully healed, she will be scheduled for her spay. Despite what she’s been through, she can't get enough loves and snuggles! She’s doing great with other dogs and has decided the resident cat is safe, too (after a little hesitation! 🙃).

We are very happy to announce that Wally...now extended to the name Walter due to his very serious demeanor 😆, has been ADOPTED! It was a long road for Wally after being hit by a car in December and on crate rest for quite some time while he healed. He also had a bad reaction to some pain meds and ended up back in the hospital. His dedicated foster mom worked wonders with him. He needed to find a very special family who would understand his quirky personality and a love connection was made! Wally shares his home with his doppleganger as well as a cat! He's doing great and we couldn't be happier for this guy!

This is what Kenway’s Cause is all about. We’re here for the Hartford community.

Earlier today, Animal Control responded to a heartbreaking call: a dog had been hit by a car. He appeared well cared for, wearing a collar, and was rushed to the vet immediately. Less than an hour later, frantic calls came in from a family reporting a missing dog. When Animal Control described him, his family was overwhelmed with relief to learn he had been found—and that he was alive.

His name is Lion. He is deeply loved.

His family shared that he slipped out unexpectedly when someone was leaving the house, and they had been searching for him ever since. Like many families, they weren’t prepared for the sudden cost of emergency care.

That’s where Kenway’s Cause stepped in.

We covered Lion’s $700 vet bill so he could get the care he needed. Thankfully, he’ll make a full recovery with some rest and pain medication.

This is just one example of what we do. When you support Kenway’s Cause, you’re helping families stay together and giving animals like Lion a second chance.

Can you believe it's been almost SIX MONTHS since Noah and Liam were rescued from the basement of an apartment building as tiny little puppies? They had quite the journey to health, especially Noah, but they were tough little cookies just like we thought and are absolutely thriving! Here's a long overdue before and after of them in their new homes, Liam has two big brothers and Noah has a big sister. They are driving them nuts with their puppy antics but learning how to be big and well behaved boys! Well...most of the time 😜. How gorgeous are these two!!!
