North Hartford Partnership Our mission is to advance equitable social and economic development in North Hartford through small business development and affordable housing.

Northeast Hartford is the poorest neighborhood in one of America’s poorest cities, despite Connecticut’s place among the nation’s wealthiest states. It is also among the least healthy. The 2012 Hartford Health Equity index ranked the area number one in highest levels of potential years of life lost in the city. In this community, where poverty and poor health are inextricably linked, NNP works to improve local public health indicators in tandem with economic security. We are working to improve public health throughout the Northeast neighborhood and to bring life expectancies in the community on par with those in surrounding neighborhoods.

At North Hartford Partnership/Swift factory, we're working to bring our North Hartford Housing Trust buildings to net zero:
✅ 2025: New roofs on every building
⚡ 2026–2027: Rooftop solar, heat pumps, and plug-in solar
The usage data residents are sharing gives us a baseline, so we can show exactly how much these upgrades save the families who live here.
Clean energy in North Hartford isn't a pilot or a someday. It's happening now, with residents as partners. Thank you to our residents, and to our property team for doing this work with care. We also want to thank Cecelia Drayton and the City of Hartford for a EECBG grant and which is helping us accomplish our NetZero4NorthHartford mission.
