The Sons of Thunder Coalition, Inc. will sponsor the Connecticut Sports Legends Weekend Celebration, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, September 9th-10th. 2023. On Sat. Sept 9th, on the campus of St. Thomas More School, located in Oakdale, CT there will be a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, honoring the first couple of high school basketball, Frank & Shelia Beneski. The next day, Sunday, September 10th, there will be a celebration gala at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville, CT. The celebration gala will highlight/honor the legacies of men and woman who have made significant contributions to athletics/basketball in the state of Connecticut. Lastly, authors Michael “Jasper” Copeland and Howie Greenblatt will be releasing the second volume of the book, Oh What a Move! Profiles of Hartford Basketball Players (1985-2000's). The book will feature players and events that made that period of hoops so special in the city of Hartford. We look forward to an epic time of fellowship and fun. The Sons of Thunder Coalition will be a sponsoring a fundraiser at the Tavern at Keney Park on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, from 2pm-9pm. During the 2pm-9pm period, when you purchase any beverage or meal, a percentage of your purchase will go to the Sons of Thunder Coalition which is a non-profit (5013c) organization. At 6:30pm during this event, we will be raffling off some exciting prizes, including 52'inch flat screen television set. The Sons of Thunder is a youth development program that utilizes wellness/athletic programs to expose youth to career and educational options. Please bring a copy of this coupon with your purchase.
