Hartford Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association

The Hartford Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association began in 2007, thanks to Police Chief David Groves.

It began with a training class "Citizen Police Academy", where citizens learn to appreciate what Police officers do on a daily basis. Originally Chief Groves appointed Lt. Scott MacFarlan to lead the Citizen Police Academy classes. Most recent classes have been lead by Officer Nate Dorn, the Departments K-9 Officer, along with help from other Hartford Police Officers.

Each year adult community residents and a select number of individuals who work in Hartford, are invited to apply for the "Citizen Police Academy" class. Classes usually begin in August and run for nine weeks. For more information about the Citizen Police Academy class, click here. Upon successful completion of the class, candidates are encouraged to join the Hartford Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.

Our purpose is to serve our community by helping the Hartford Police Department, The Hartford Police Explorers and our community.
