Teens In Hartford Promoting Sober Youth - TIHPSY TIHPSY is a youth coalition created to prevent and reduce the use of underage alcohol, to***co and substance use within Hartford.

TIHPSY, an initiative created by Hartford Communities That Care, Hartford Behavioral Health, and various community partners, is a youth coalition created to prevent and reduce the use of underage alcohol, to***co, and ma*****na in Hartford. TIHPSY youth leadership group meets every Wednesday and Friday to work on community service projects and develop workshops. The youth serve as peer educators

and facilitate monthly workshop and group activities to a youth that attend Wilson Gray YMCA, CRT YHAT center and Fred D. Wish 1st Class afterschool program. Every year TIHPSY youth conduct an annual Town Hall Meeting to address their concerns to the City Officials and the community on how alcohol, to***co and substance abuse is affecting our youth in the community. The youth conduct research on statics of DUI arrest, compliance check updates and low law enforcement of liquor laws. They also make recommendations on ways to help with prevention within the community. The youth coalition meets with support from adult coalition members on the 2nd Thursday of each month. (except the July, August and September)
The adult members of the coalition help to plan and organize community events and conferences. Contribute to the strategic planning process and participate in sustaining the coalition’s capacity, community involvement and goals. They also suggest recommendations on how to recruit and sustain active coalition members.
