The Fourth of July invites us to celebrate the promise of freedom while acknowledging that freedom was not experienced equally by all.

For generations, Black Americans have transformed the nation's unfinished ideals into action through resilience, advocacy, service, and unwavering hope.

Today, we honor those who endured, those who organized, those who led, and those who continue the work of building communities where liberty, justice, and opportunity are realities for everyone.

As we celebrate, let us also learn. As we reflect, let us recommit. As we move forward, let us continue to elevate our communities and create a future worthy of those who came before us.

Our Black K.A.R.E Zumba Night was a movement to be proud of💚

We had an amazing time connecting and discussing Kidney Disease, Prevention, and Options! While laughing, dancing, and enjoying the company of Link Sisters and other great women from our community💚

Yesterday, our Connecticut Cluster had the meaningful opportunity to visit the Connecticut Legislature for Green Pumps on the Hill—a powerful day of advocacy, connection, and sisterhood.

During our visit, we met with a select group of commissioners, engaged in meaningful conversations around issues impacting our communities, and even had the opportunity to take a quick photo with Governor Ned Lamont.

A special highlight of the day was the opportunity to honor one of our own, Connecticut State Representative Tammy Exum. We are proud to celebrate her leadership, service, and continued commitment to making a difference across our state.

Days like this remind us of the power of civic engagement, collective voice, and women leading with purpose. 💚
