A heartfelt thank you to the Black Student Union at Trinity College for volunteering your time earlier this month and helping serve dinner at the shelter. Your compassion and willingness to show up for the community made a meaningful impact.

Zamia Barradas, Head of Community Service who coordinated the opportunity for the group, said, "Volunteering at a homeless shelter such as ImmaCare was important to me because it gave me the chance to directly support people in my community who are facing difficult circumstances. I was drawn to this service work because I wanted to contribute in a meaningful, hands-on way and better understand the challenges many individuals experience while also helping create a more welcoming and supportive environment."

It’s not every day a volunteer calls to say, “I have two large wheels of cheddar, would the shelter like them?” Our answer was an enthusiastic yes!

Thanks to that generous donation, ImmaCare’s Peer Support Specialist turned those wheels (along with pasta, eggs, and all the right ingredients) into a rich, comforting mac and cheese that brought smiles all around.

We’re so grateful to the generous donors of Saint Thomas and Saint Timothy Parish for always thinking of ImmaCare and helping us nourish both body and spirit.

Many thanks to the Knights of Columbus at Saint Josephine Bakhita in Rocky Hill who, at the suggestion of ImmaCare Board Member Carl Bach, generously donated leftover corned beef, potatoes, and cabbage from their St. Patrick’s Day dinner early last week.

Residents of the project-based Casa de Francisco truly enjoyed this festive St. Patrick’s Day treat—your generosity made it a special and memorable meal!

Our shelter clients were treated to a delicious Jamaican meal, and it was truly a hit!

A heartfelt thank you to Chemeka Bell for organizing the logistics and to her little sister Lashana Campbell for leading the cooking and serving. Many clients came back for seconds and shared how much they loved the rich, flavorful Jamaican cuisine.

It was a wonderful moment of community and care—thank you for making it so special!

Your donation will have great impact on those served by our agency. In addition, we are grateful to the many food group volunteers that come directly from your parish. What a special place and special group of people. Thank you Carl Bach, Carol Rizzo, Dawn Boyle, and the many other behind-the-scenes angels who support our agency!
