United Way Women United Women United is a diverse network of local women who stand up and take action to help strengthen women and families in our community.

United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut's Women's Leadership Council (WLC) is a diverse network of professional women who stand up and take action to help strengthen women and families in our community. Members:

-Raise awareness and revenue to support children succeeding in school and families being financially secure. When families are financially secure, health outcomes improve, chil

dren do better in school and our community is stronger;

-Connect with other women and experience personal, professional and philanthropic growth through exclusive member-only opportunities like Member Breakfasts, Cocktails and Conversations, and Lunchtime Learning;

-Attract and engage next generation female leaders through Women Investing in the Next Generation (WINGs);

-Create impact in our community through meaningful and hands-on volunteer experiences that help children succeed in school and families work toward financially stability; and,

-Host two signature fundraising events: the Power of the Purse Luncheon and Silent Auction, which is held annually in June and attracts 1,200 women and a few good men; and, Red White and Chocolate, which is a wine and chocolate tasting held in January.
