Join us for Raise the Bar Volunteer Day on October 28! We’re looking for volunteers to support students as they navigate FAFSA and financial aid, work on college essays and applications, and explore their postsecondary plans.

Your time and support can help students feel more confident as they plan for what comes next. 💜

🌱🥕 From farm to school, and from farm to community!

This National Farm to School Month, we’re celebrating our partner, Keney Park Sustainability Project, and the important role they play in Hartford’s local food system. 🌾

With the help of community volunteers, food grown on their farm makes its way directly into the community, including Hartford Public Schools, helping connect students and families with locally grown food.

We’re proud to highlight partners who are growing a healthier, more connected Hartford! 💚

North Hartford Ascend is proud to celebrate Jinelle Ho**er, Co-chair of our Partner Engagement Work Group and Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships at Hartford Public Schools, on receiving a City of Hartford Hispanic Heritage Award!

Honored on October 9, Jinelle was recognized for her personal achievements and outstanding contributions to Hartford’s Latino community.

We know that strong communities are built through connection, collaboration, and the dedication of people who show up for one another. Jinelle’s leadership reflects the importance of bringing people and organizations together to support North Hartford’s children, families, and neighborhoods. 💜

We’re grateful to have her as part of the Ascend community. Help us celebrate Jinelle and this well-deserved recognition! 👏

As a North Hartford Ascend partner, The Children's Museum Group brings creative, hands-on programming to North End libraries—meeting families where they are and giving kids the space, time, and freedom to explore.

From 3D printing to crafts and everything in between, kids can dream up their own projects, work at their own pace, and come back day after day to keep creating until their ideas come to life. ✨

🌱 Healthy children grow within healthy, supportive communities.

This Children’s Health Month, we’re highlighting the people, programs and resources that support children and families from the earliest years.

Community members identified a need for greater awareness and easier access to early childhood programs and services. By listening to families and working together, Ascend and its partners helped turn that community-identified need into action.

That work came together through Little Steps, Bigger Futures: An Early Childhood Information Session. Families had the opportunity to connect with providers, ask questions, and learn more about resources—all in one place.
