The Ferret Association is announcing the upcoming transport of 29 ferrets from the Manitoba (Canada) Ferret Association to our office in Hartford, CT.

This group will consist of 13 young males and 16 3 year old females. We have committed to pay for all spays/neuters/shots.

Can they be adopted? Yes!
Some notes: the girls will be ready in mid-September but they may be frightened and a little bitey. The males will NOT BE ADOPTED OUT until they are neutered. That won’t happen until they are sexually mature, which is controlled by Mother Nature. Please be an adult-only, ferret-experienced, stable home.

While some ferrets are headed to Washington Metro Area Ferret Outreach in Maryland (https://www.facebook.com/WMAFO), most will stay in Hartford and you must be able to travel here.

Update on the little ferret found outdoors in Torrington, CT and left unclaimed: She had a hard time for a couple weeks! She arrived with explosive diarrhea (must've been eating Taco Bell!) and became very dehydrated.
A visit to the ER in Middletown found no parasites. It took a solid week of "scruff & stuff" force-feeding until she decided one morning to EAT. Kibble. As much as possible.
Now named Flower, this oldie still has very weak hind legs and is pretty messy! P**p kind of gets left in a long trail and piddle in a big puddle. Her need for paper towels is impressive!
She needs a deslorelin implant, but she IS better. In the morning she will potter around your feet with some interest, and she just adores snoozing inside a fur-lined tube. She's on probiotics but as yet we're not seeing a huge change.
But Flower is a sweet oldie. She will become one of our permanent Foster ferrets and while we're hoping a brave soul might step up to become her caretaker, her medical needs will be covered by the Ferret Association. Urgent for residents at/near Burlington, CT! Dr. Petraukas' little friend Nero got out of the house. Please ignore the date on this post - it happened AUGUST 2nd, not July. Please contact her directly if you see him. He is a good boy but shy and afraid of strangers. May be lured with nice smelly tuna fish!
