NEW JERSEY RESIDENTS! In Defense of Animals is promoting NJ Bill .2599 (Senate)/A.300 (Assembly). This is the bill developed by My Name Is Musky to mandate cats, dogs & FERRETS used in medical research in New Jersey that can be released are given to nonprofit shelters for adoption.
Follow the link to IDUSA.org where they make it super easy to voice support to your legislators and PUSH THIS BILL THROUGH.
You must be a NJ resident, but please share anywhere NJ animal lovers might read it. Thank you from us, the late great Stubby (a lab escapee), and all the ferrets rehomed from medical research. Let us know in the comments once you've written! Please do this right away!

The last group of Canadians for this year are on their way to Wyoming! Special thanks to the shelters accepting them (Ferret Dreams, Frisko's Friends & Mustelid Madness Rescue) and ALWAYS much love to the intrepid driver from Canada, Kerry Paulson.

Someone left this poor little naked lady in the woods. Thank you to Brittany of Vendericks Healing Paw wildlife rescue and her volunteer Beatrix for bringing her to us.
She will meet the other ferrets after someone in the shelter who is a bully is adopted out. Then once a deslorelin implant is obtained for her, she will join our permanent Foster program.
Interested in her lifetime care? Please live in the CT area as you must be able to use one of our local vets. Complete the adoption application on our website if you've not adopted before.

WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING
We just found out someone has impersonated our shelter to scam "deposit" $$ from someone wanting a ferret. The scammer even told the girl to meet at OUR ADDRESS. We learned about it when she phoned our business line to ask why no one was there.
We warn our followers regularly. Don't know if she was messaged through our page or another ferret page, but be VERY careful about FB "rehoming" pages. They are FULL of scammers.
HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO REPEAT THAT NO LEGITIMATE SHELTER -FERRET, CAT, DOG, OR SPCA- WILL ASK YOU FOR MONEY UPFRONT TO ADOPT AN ANIMAL?
C'mon, people, have enough sense to verify where/who you are "adopting" from FIRST. Had this young lady messaged our page, phoned, or emailed us directly, she would have saved $ and a 3 hour drive. And YES, be sure to look at the entire email address when someone sends you emails! It's REALLY easy to steal names and have them come from some random .com that you know the real person would never use.
But this is a serious warning for other ferret shelters, too! Animal adoption scams are old news; someone using a legitimate shelter's name and address has really upped the game in a way that threatens OUR reputations. Please share this message on your own pages, websites, and on ANY "rehome" site you may know about or monitor.

We are very sorry to share the loss of a ferret lover from Branford, CT, Alexandra (Alex) Kryzkij.
Our sincere sympathies go out to her entire family, especially her parents and sister Alana. it was very kind to ask donations in her memory be given to ferret causes, including to the Ferret Association.
Reunited now with the beloved pets who passed before her.
